G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

View attachment 5489 Just a update the Eagles vs Ole game was cancelled today due to fires and bad air quality around the area. It’s been a rough few days personally awaiting to see if the fires were gonna come towards my home. We had a few houses burn down just a mile away from my house.

Sending positive vibes and prayers @Luis Andres and to all soccer families involved. Family first and treat them to slurpees and ice cream.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. Fires are a definite threat to our state while other states have their own issues. Last June while attending Super Copa in North Texas, some families had stayed to watch the finals of the older groups and they never happened because of the storm and tornado that came out of no where. Luckily we left right after the warning and made it safe to the airport but there were other families that got caught in the storm driving on the fwy. The girls and their families said they never again wish to return to North Texas, it was that scary being in the middle of a storm with a tornado.

I know this is a soccer forum but there is so much more to life than soccer especially with our girls being so young. I def get caught up into it since soccer is a passion of mine but speaking in the big scheme of things. Nice to see everyone coming together!

Agree @HE>I , the majority of the G2010 parents all want their DD to win, develop and have fun. Majority of the primary posters seem cool, positive and level headed which makes its nice and easy to read and post on a daily basis. Seeing the development of teams the last 2.5 years has been great. Great coaching does exist.

is Supercopa worth the trip?

If you believe YSR, the top three are all in Socal already... What does a top team gain that they wouldn’t gain just by playing some 2009 teams?

Great question @dad4, I know Ole and Slammers Cruz went last year. I’m sure their are pros and cons for traveling that far.

Pros
Playing new teams (hopefully)
Adventures with teams / family
Experience of ceremonies

Cons
Cost
Destination of city (Cincinnati)
Cost again

Please add more pros and cons for Ulittle to travel so far

Overall I think it was a great experience. Think of it like a mini vacation and watching some great soccer. Getting to visit the soccer hall of fame was cool and the parade was nice too. The competition was fierce no easy games even the Oklahoma team was pretty good. We were in the toughest bracket and were able to beat the best team in Texas during the stage round but they came back and beat us in the semis. They were the best team out there and second was the Texans which came out to last Surf. The Solar Colvin was probably good enough to make it to semis or finals here in SoCal YSR has the ranked 6th in the nation, pretty accurate if you ask me. They would be considered Tier 1 to our standards. Over all I felt the girls grew from this experience made the team stronger afterwards. They bonded well.

I know that Slammers PA got this one striker that can rip hard shots from way out. I wouldn’t be surprised if she ripped a few balls from the outside to score. That’s how they got us.

Two different players scored in today's game. One of their forwards and a center mid. All scores came during the second half and at or within the 18. Legends scored first and Slammers answered back with 2. Both teams fought hard. It was a good game to watch.
