CRL Play-In

Listen to you guys talking on here!! "My" team and "we" have to play better. Are you players or parents? Do you lace up your boots at every practice and game? I bet you would hold your kids hand at practice to show them how to do drills the way "you" think they should be done if you could!
Does the coach include you in his training preparations and game plans?? I seriously doubt it and god I hope not! I can't even imagine being a coach and having parents like you guys talking EVERY DAY and EVERY GAME about how the team should be playing, let alone having you blog about the team 10 times a day! Talk about living your life through your children..
Sorry, I should have clarified that this is the team I coach sir, I have had them for 7 years now its been along road so I feel like they are an extension of me that is why I use the term "we" when I refer to the team and the boys. But I don't disagree with you totally believe me, we have all dealt with the difficult parent that wants to tell you how you should be coaching their kid. Sometimes you have to part with great players because the parents create too much conflict. Its the sad part of the game that we need to find a way to fix.

Looking at CSL (http://www.coastsoccer.com/2015/SB140P.htm), there were 3 teams with over 10 AC (Anaheim FC PDA 01, Oxnard PAL, and Lazers). One team at 9 (La Esperanza), and 4 teams at 7 (Albion, Valley United, Fram, and South Bay). two teams at 5 (LAFA, Fullerton Rangers). Only 2 teams had 0 for the season (TFA, FC Golden State). Not sure your point...
Well the season is over , have you check league card counts? just sayin' there are certain teams that finishing un-hurt is more important then the win. CRL games are coming, and teams tend not to change this style of play. good luck, and health, to all going up against the Card carrying members of league play.

Oxnard is showing 2 forfeits this weekend - are they out for the rest of the season or is it just due to high school?

Probably. It is complete BS that they did the CRL play in this weekend. We have played every year since it started, never had to do it in December. It is one thing if you are going to NL as most of the country is not playing high school, but CRL is well aware that all of these kids are in high school and have to sit and watch their teams play. Sucks to put these kids into this type of situation.

National League is exempt as well so the kids can play high school games and then go play National League and not have to sit out games.

Only if the player is rostered as ODP Player. Players on NL team not registered as ODP, are not exempted from playing NL.

National League (Disney Soccer Showcase Boys)
December 27-29, 2016
Orlando, FL
*The ODP Events listed above are for ODP Region IV teams/individuals only. Individuals competing on club teams at these tournaments are not identified as ODP players and therefore are NOT allowed to participate accodring to CIF Rules."

"According to the CIF State and Southern Section clarifications andstaying with the long history of the ODP and CIF exemption, ONLY ODP roster players for the specific tournament are allowed to play forboth high school and ODP teamsduring the same season. This has always been accompanied with letters from US Youth Soccer (ODP)for the individual players to present to their schools and coaches. If a student-athlete is notinvited and are not placed on the specific ODP roster for the December/January Disney Showcase tournaments(or any tournament- including CRL gmaes) as an ODP player, they areNOT exempt and may NOT play for the high school and then for a club team in the tournament. We encourage allhigh school coachestobe careful with this issue. SCHSSCA wants to remind all Southern Section coaches: any student-athlete that plays in December for theirhigh school, who then attends the Disney Showcase and plays for their club team, is in violation of CIF rules and will cause the player to sit out more games in January (2:1 ratio)as well as cause the high school team to forfeit any games the said player competed in previously. See the CIFSS Blue Book at cifss.org and the clarification from CIF State's website http://www.cifstate.org/governance/odp"

I don't think there are any Region IV teams going to Disney, there are only teams going to North Carolina which does not have the same disclosure noted after it.

We have been to the last two National Leagues in NC, you can't play high school until you return. We went through CIF to double check, but that is the case as of last year.

CIF is one of the biggest deterrents to the US producing top level players.
Why is it necessary to have this "pissing contest" between US Soccer, Clubs, and high schools?

A couple of days ago I received a note from Crl asking if we were going to Dallas the 8th weekend. It appears they are working on it.

my kids said that the team disbanded. I asked them after looking at the standings last night . they did not have any more info than that. after looking at the standings I was wondering:
1. what happened to LAFA( ditto) If they dropped out because of a poor record that speaks volumes about the organization!
2. what was their record to the point of no longer playing . did they win a single game. because all games show a forfeit.
3. a couple games show "disqualified" what does that mean?

Lots of great boys in that team...wish them the best. They had won several games, so they could have made a run or play as the spoiler.

I don't know what disqualified means as well...it sounds worst than forfeiting.
