Arizona Alphabet Soup

What is happening with all the AZ letter leagues that have diluted any chance of good in state competition as we all travel out of AZ to play other states? What is the sense everyone has (mainly boy side I am referring to) on MLS HG teams...rosters set for all ages? Any major shake ups? Anyone pleased with MLS Academy? Is there less travel than Homegrown? And what about ECNL teams? RL Teams? "new" RL teams? Then there is Surf trying to reexpand, the CCV stuff; will that impact their tryouts and teams, what is happening for APL league teams?

It is ridiculous. I know more on the girls side than boys, so there is:
-ECNL
-ECRL
-GA
-GA Aspire
-DPL
-DPLO
-NL Club
-NL Team
Then come the state leagues. It is so dumb. The elite levels need to be elite (ECNL, GA). The rest are a jumble. We are a state league team, but we have victories over ECRL, GA Aspire, DPL, DPLO, NL Club and NL Team teams just this season alone (haven't played ECNL or GA but I assume that we would struggle). All the kids and parents sold on "better league and more exposure" is a money grab. We have players getting college offers (D1, D2, NAIA, JUCO) and we are a state league team paying reasonable fees and with a sane level of travel. Getting a college offer is like looking for a job: you have to do all the work to land one, and once you land one, keep working to land a better one. I am in the thick of it, and I can barely understand what the point is, so I don't know how anyone new to youth soccer can make any rational decisions.

When one of your kids accepts/signs a D1 offer, can you post it here ... would love to see what state team is accomplishing something like that.

State league meaning Socal? NPL? The sane amount of travel is the key point for me (daughter in 7th grade currently)
