AN AMERICAN GAME podcast

Hey all- Some of you may remember me from my time with Tudela FC LA. I stepped down as President a couple years ago when my daughter went to college, and I've been trying to fill allll that time I suddenly have now that I'm not driving to practices and games and tournaments in Del Mar.

So: I got back in the lab with my old friend and college teammate (and my partner on a couple of soccer documentaries, including SOCCERTOWN, USA) to do a podcast on American soccer history.

I know, that sounds boring. But our history is longer and more interesting than most people realize. Soccer was in New Jersey before it was in Brazil. The US had a pro league before Italy or Spain. We were the first country to register for the first World Cup. Over six episodes, we tell stories from the 150 years of American soccer history that even die-hard fans may not know and make the case that, yes, soccer is "an American game."

Tom is a leading historian of American soccer (yes, that's a thing), and I'm a longtime screenwriter, so it's legit history and, we think, pretty entertaining. Which is why I've logged back in to share it with the SoCal soccer community to see what you think. If you like it, we'll make more.
