Albion SC (East County specifically)

WE did. It was a big mess. Not sure how a coach is suppose to evaluate with very minimal time on the ball.
WE may need to find another option.
You could try talking with the coach before the second day and request he keep an eye on him if you feel strongly he has what it takes to play on the team.

Tryouts look to be a mess almost everywhere. The age group change is really creating confusion because clubs don't have a good grasp of who falls where. Seems primed for someone good with data to streamline everything.

Tryouts are a sham. If you are not happy with your club, you should be training with other teams at least a month before tryouts.

Also be wary of any assessment that doesn't include 1v1's, 2v2's, small sided and full size games.

Understood. We were blind sided by not getting an invite to move up at Albion and did not think it was needed.

Will be curious to see how Albion integrates players they found in tryouts the past two days. It seems they've left themselves a lot of space at AD, but the EA(2) (and Academy) rosters are pretty much all over-full at the moment. Wonder if they'll pro-actively extend invites to try and attract $$$, or wait to see which of their own players (like your son) move on before adding new players below AD.

Time will tell.

I assume the others added to the EA2 are extactic as their boys probably are coming from lower level teams.
No denying that Ale is a good coach, just feel like we need to be playing higher.
People see a letter league and jump at the opportunity, so they will definitely not struggle for commitments.

Guessing they already have spots filled by none Albion kids and it just doesn’t show.
But who knows

Nope; AFAIK current EA2 roster includes only 3 boys moved up from Academy; almost all of the rest were on one of ML's EA teams and were moved down.

At all age groups, the lack of communication seems to be the biggest rub.

I'd bet on the $$ angle.

More to the point, there are likely many on the current EA2 roster who are looking to move for the opposite reason than you are; they were moved down in the pecking order.

Makes sense, but quick look at the standings says they are lucky to be getting an EA2 invite
I appreciate that take, and I think it's largely fair for the B11s (especially because there literally was not an Academy squad last year), but the B12s seem to have taken it up a notch under AM so perhaps lack of talent wasn't what was holding them back. Of course, many of the B12s are U14s, so...

David did have a 2011 academy team at Hickman.
But Marco definitely could have been the issue.
