The one stat that I find crazy is that Surf has not given up a single goal this Tournament and only one team scored on them in all of CRL (LAGSB in the last game).
If there is one team that has a chance to beat Surf it is Arsenal--should be a great one next week!

There you go, that was it.8/28 SD Surf EGSL Academy beat RSC 4-0 - CRL Division Game
10/22 RSC beat SD Surf EGSL Academy 3-2 - SCDSL Showcase Game
Does anybody have any further details on this? We have heard some of what was said from our club. Anybody know the NorCal teams? I would assume Deanza Force is one of them.Surf earned their way to the FWR when they won CRL (as you know). Since Arsenal is playing Surf in the National Cup final, Arsenal earned their way to the FWR, either as the de facto CRL winner or winning National Cup. The winner of National Cup, if the same team won CRL, cannot accept the CRL berth, which is where Surf will sit if they win.
The benefit of Arsenal getting to the National Cup finals is the 3rd and 4th place CRL teams (Real Socal and LAG SD) will be offered a playoff spot on the weekend of May 20th (CRL showcase in Sacramento) for the final berth, which Nor Cal didn't automatically earn because they didn't have the prerequisite 6 teams in their 04 bracket. Good luck to So Cal and lets represent with 3 SoCal teams in the FWRs.

Arsenal 1- Surf 0
Great game and effort by Surf team ... love and respect how they play
Well deserved Win by Arsenal played thru adversity being down two Defensive starters - These Girls answered the Call! ... They competed!
American Athlete 1 - Tiki Taka 0
Thanks appreciatedNice job Arsenal! Congrats!
A win is win... but to bad the Ref missed the 2 handballs in the box... right before the goal!!
Here is the link to watch for yourselves.
Enjoy!!
Would the results have been any different w/o Arsenal's borrowed players? Just asking! I wanted to see 11 "white" numbered players on the field, but I think I only counted 7 at one time.Nice job Arsenal! Congrats!
For the record, my daughter doesn't play for Arsenal just happy for what they've accomplished. Nice, talented girls (that played on ODP team with my daughter).Would the results have been any different w/o Arsenal's borrowed players? Just asking! I wanted to see 11 "white" numbered players on the field, but I think I only counted 7 at one time.Hopefully that doesn't mean too many of them were sitting on the bench?

Wow that's a crazy contrast of styles. Surf trying to play on the ground, keep the ball, Arsenal booting it long every opportunity and chasing. Gotta hand it to Arsenal for capitalizing on the Surf defender's mistake and foul. Sometimes it comes down to one play. I wonder if these two teams will meet again at Regionals?
Thanks for posting the link.
