Silverlakes Summer Showcase

Silverlakes Sports would like to invite your club out to one of the premier tournaments this summer July 28-31, 2023. This is the 7th annual Silverlakes Summer Showcase with teams from all over the western region participating. This year we have combined both our summer events to offer 2016-2005 for boys and girls. Clubs will have one venue and one weekend to have all your teams together. All teams are guaranteed 3 full-length games with a chance to advance into the championship rounds each team will play one game a day, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The finals will be held on Monday.

Last summer, was a sold-out event with teams participating from all over the Western Region. Colorado, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Illinois and more. Over 350+ College Coaches from almost every conference were in attendance to see the high level of play. To help facilitate quality games we utilize the top referee association in Southern California and host referee mentors and assessors to ensure a high level of referees.

Why doesnt the team just rent a bus?

Avg 11 a side team has at least 25 cars paying for parking. That equates to $500 per day. Bus rentals in SoCal for youth events can drop as low as $70 per hour including the driver. Which means for the same price of parking you could rent a bus for all parents, kids and coaches for over 7 hours.

Just find a common meeting ground for bus pickup, club fields, school or something similar. Everyone parks there, gets to the game on time and together and coach can actually spend time with the players / tactics etc during the ride.

You can do exactly what i suggested above. Take away the parking fees from the locaitons.
They would either prohibit bus access or charge $300 per bus for drop off and pick up. And what central location will let you park hundreds of cars for free so you can load buses? Not to mention the liability.

I think that may be a stretch. The parking area only needs to hold the 20-30 cars that don't need to travel to the site, because they are taking the bus. And bus companies are perfectly happy to take on the liability of paying customers - that's exactly why they exist. The final site could certainly try to prohibit bus access, but I'm not sure that's really in their best interest either. We've seen a few team buses roll up over the years at tournaments, and it always seems like it would have been a good idea to consider.

Not sure how you come up with hundreds of cars? What kind of bus are you trying to load up or are you bring five cars per child?

Read the response from RSF. Would also be prudent to do some due diligence on your end before posting comments without merit.

This isn't a one team problem which is why I said hundreds of cars. And the liability I speak of is loading private bus(es) at parks, schools etc without approval or permits. Silverlakes will make every excuse and install every obstacle to prevent this. And the minimal savings if any will still have Californians taking 15 cars per team to the event.
