Albion SC (East County specifically)

All ages groups held 1 session on Mon & Tues. Mon was 11/12 & 09/10. Tues was 10/11 & 07/08/09. Perhaps there will be more to further sort players, but I wouldn't bet on it.
I stand corrected, looks like they are scrambling to put together additional age group trainings based on feedback from last weeks sessions. Appears to be purely for EA and EA2 teams. 07/08/09’s & 09/10’s are tonight while 10/11’s & 11/12’s are TBD.

Yup; really crappy scheduling considering SDUSD is on Spring Break this week.

u17 could have trouble fielding EA and EA2 unless there are a lot of 09s coming down.
EA2 team likely isn't to return a ton and the academy team at central was an absolute mess.

I feel like there will be an unusually high number of players looking to try out this year (compared to other years); that's what I'm seeing in my son's club, anyway. With the age group change shuffling teams around anyway, a lot of players who might otherwise stay put via social inertia are looking to see what other options are available.

This might be just an "olders" thing, and/or club specific, but that's what I'm seeing, fwiw. My son's team just finished State Cup, and I think they have less than half (maybe less than 1/3) of the players for the age group committed to return, despite the club sending early invites back to most. Part of that is the club's idiotic dues payment policy (you essentially have to pay two months in advance if you early commit, vs later commit which would be still guaranteed), but I know a lot of kids are leaving for higher level teams, and/or testing the waters with such, since everything is shuffling around anyway.

All of that is to say: clubs may want most of their players back, but the players may be delaying that decision until after try-outs are open (which is next week at the earliest for olders, for clubs in SoCal League).
