BBC sanctioned for failing to disclose Gaza documentary narrator's ties to Hamas

Britain's media regulator has sanctioned the BBC for a misleading documentary on children in Gaza. The BBC failed to disclose that the teen narrator's father had held a position in the Hamas administration.

BBC has been terrible for a long time.

To be fair, I’m not being sarcastic either, he trusted agencies that should value the truth above all, to do exactly that. They failed us all. A critically thinking human who believed them, would simply admit they trusted liars and demand all leadership be replaced.

On the other hand, he thought Kamala was the most qualified Presidential candidate in recent history.

He did trust them. But then discounted the facts.

CDC used to have daily death reports split up by age groups. Within just a couple of months it was very clear who was at risk. dad and others would look at that data and continue arguing to shut everything down because everyone was at risk. So prior to even the first summer we knew young people had no real risk. We also knew that 40% or so of all deaths were people in nursing homes (places you don't leave).

And yet the CDC, teachers unions, the Ds, etc all wanted biz shuttered, schools, closed, etc.

Yes, @Desert Hound, you and @watfly are correct. He had a good “runway” of facts that continued to pile up and he chose to continue to ignore. Maybe that’s what is making it so hard for him to admit he was wrong - despite @crush ’s offer of fresh crow.

I believe his position was that even though kids weren't at risk they could bring Covid home and kill grandma. The shutdowns were rationalized in part by the belief that individuals were responsible for other peoples health. It's one thing if you're sick, you have a responsibility to stay home and not infect others. However, its an entirely different thing to quarantine perfectly healthy people in the fear that they may get sick and spread it. Particularly, when that standard was applied to children.

If I'm responsible for someone else's health I'm going to start knocking venti frappacino's and super big gulps out of the hands of fat people.
