MLS2

I think we can make it work if we really wanted to without traveling, especially in SoCal.

Have SD, Galaxy, LAFC play top ECNL and MLS Next teams from SoCal.

For 2012s as an example, it would be Strikers, Legends, FCGS, Sporting CA, SD Surf, Albion Riverside, TFA, Pats, Beach, City SC, etc.

You can have a group of ~15 teams at a very high level that comprises of 3 MLS academies + 5-6 top MLSN teams + 5-6 top ECNL teams.

Play home and away and that's ~30 very competitive matches all within an hour or two at most driving.
Here in SoCal is the richest of opportunities and other than strikers and some usually random team galaxy and lasc tend to walk over their opponents in regular mlsn esp as you get older and the top players get sorted into the academies. Good enough for a scrimmage for bench players…not good enough to develop a future pro esp at the older ages. Now do Seattle and salt lake….if it doesn’t work everywhere you still have the same problem.

A midweek SoCal Champions League of sorts.... I like it.

What I've always thought would work is a Socal vs Norcal (+others NV, AZ, OR, WA, and maybe UT, CO, NM) tournament.

And just to make it fun have one night in Disneyland or Winetasting with kid activities in Norcal.

Winner gets a free invite next season. This is mostly because I dont think Norcal would ever win. ;-)

Yea so I think the academies can play up a year vs the other top MLSN competition.
