Putin's not that dumb to take California.

All kidding aside, this is going to be a tough conflict to settle. Russia doesn't deserve any new territory, but to get an end to the conflict, Ukraine is going to have to give some up. I can't blame Ukraine if they're not willing to do that, but the alternative is an endless war. An endless war means a blank check from the US. Trump is going to have use master leverage to get Ukraine to give up land.
How much territory was given up to Japan after WW2? How much territory was given up to Germany after WW1? How much territory was given up to Germany after WW2?

Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

-- Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. It's the oldest act in the book.

But wait -- there is more --

Members of the National Guard are rarely covered by the Posse Comitatus Act because they usually report to their state or territory’s governor. That means they are free to participate in law enforcement if doing so is consistent with state law. However, when Guard personnel are called into federal service, or “federalized,” they become part of the federal armed forces, which means they are bound by the Posse Comitatus Act until they are returned to state control.

Apples and oranges. Those countries were getting theirs asses kicked and had to surrender. There is no such situation in this case. Russia can go on fighting this war for decades. As unseemly as it sounds Ukraine has to give up territory.

How exactly do you suggest ending this war without Ukraine giving up land?

Does that include when I posted my opinion that Biden was too old?

The problem Ukraine has is they are much smaller vs Russia. Russia is willing and able to send men into the meat grinder and incrementally take more and more land. Ukraine cannot stop it.

The Euros do not have their militaries in any type of shape to go in and fight.

And while the US could fight...we are not going to put boots on the ground.

So that leaves no ideal options.

Crimea has long been a political football (it is even sort of shaped like one). It was part of Russia until it was given to Ukraine in 1954. Put a geographic dividing line in there somewhere (a line of latitude or an easier-to-measure line of longitude).

"In addition to the National Guard, Pete Hegseth also said he is prepared to bring in other “specialized units.”

Military specialized units include Army Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and various Air Force Special Op units to handle diverse missions such as direct action raids, special reconnaissance, counterterrorism, and unconventional warfare.

All of this for homeless people in DC?

In 2014, DC ranked 16th in homelessness, so there are many cities to begin with other than DC.

In my opinion, this has absolutely nothing to do with homelessness.

In any event, the troops have begun flowing into DC, as promised.

Let’s see what happens!" Anon

Send Trump the bill and see how that goes.
