Do you see any connection between trump and his immediate inaction, then downplaying, then pushing against his own directives in concerns to Covid being an issue that made things worse?

Comedy often has a way of simplifying an issue and getting to the point by highlighting the absurdity. It also can expose a nerve.

On the trump matter, some of us see the detriment he is to our nation. His use of division, hate, bigotry and grifting nature is obvious to all but those looking for a tax break or vengeance. So either the rich or the aggrieved victims of the big mean libs.
 
Stop me if it’s already happened, but how long until criminals dress like these guys going around in masks with no identification scooping people up off the streets to deport them? All kinds of crimes could be easily facilitated that way.

CDC data indicates there were 385,443 U.S. deaths attributing COVID-19 as an underlying or contributing cause on death certificates in 2020.

By contrast, there were 446,197 U.S. deaths attributed to COVID-19 on death certificates in 2021, as of Jan. 12.

I can appreciate a GOOD Trump joke but most aren't very clever. Also the primary reason for simplifying is for the simple-minded (aka orange man bad mentality)
