'24-‘25 SoCal and National Forecast and Updates

How does that work? Was this school your top choice and you let them know that you're ready to commit? Assuming you have been to multiple ID camps for them so that they were familiar with your player.

It was in her Top Choice after speaking with all schools in her top 3. Based on location, expected role and academics. This school was in contact with her coach for at least a yr before June 15th. They asked for film and updates so we never attended a camp. But the other schools we did attend camps and got to know the coaches and budgets they have. Since this school was a P4 with ability to offer full rides on the spot they did that. Like I said in another post, if a player is not committed and they go to ECNL playoffs they are fair game. She talked to about 10 schools day one with 3 first day offers and 7 after ecnl playoffs we can go over packages with your parents. My kid was like I don't want to wait on any schools. In this climate get in where you fit in.

For ECNL playoffs there are some tough groups out there:
  • Group A: Penn Fusion, SLSG, Sting Black, HBK Koge
  • Group B: VDA, PDA, Royals, Seattle Utd
  • Group D: Solar, Concord Fire, Hawks, Eagles
  • Group F: Rockford, FC Dallas, Bay Area Surf, Tennessee

I would go to more camps and do better job reaching out to coaches. My kid got her day 1 Full Scholarship offer and commited. Going to showcases help but it maybe best to target about 5 schools and go to the id camps. Out of state schools are the most aggresive during these times.
Is your kid in the National Team Pool? And Congrats!!!

Yes but has not played as much as she had a injury that kept her out a year at u15-mid u16. And she just got back from a 4 month hiatus on a meniscus injury during u17. She is back 100% going forward.
oh wow that's great news getting that done and having to deal with unfortunate injuries like that. So your daughter is a class of 2027?

Yes but a trapped 08 player. So her processes is different since she got a extra year in front of the scouts.

Wow, that’s pretty impressive being a class of 2027! Are you based in Southern California? If so, I’m curious... does your DD recruiting stand out there, or is it more frequent in SoCal given the depth of talent and the club support and network there?

We are from Norcal. All of CA has talent but the depth is unmatched from socal teams and individual players.

Wow! Big congrats!! When you say id camps - are these the paid ones you may have gone to before the showcases? Or are you referring to the invites after interest ? If one missed ID camps… after nationals would you recommend signing up ? Have a few emails but not from schools targeted and mostly out of our state (CA). I know playoffs here will be important for CA schools?

Well done!

We did the individual college camps in the summer we picked about 3. Our club does about 2 ID camps per year as well. We also did one of the multi college camps. Most of the time it's the same schools at these events. Out of state schools you can send emails and film and say we cannot attend but you are interested. That is what she should have done instead of ghosting the emails. All you want for you kid is options so the email follow up is better than not responding to a email for UCLA or Duke's camp invite. Those emails matter don't overlook those emails to camps, that's a good sign.

You don't have to be on the best team just get in front of the coaches. (We made some mistakes) I use to play football and assumed schools come after you. I was dead wrong about that regarding girls soccer.

Ah good info. We didn't attend any paid camps but were very responsive to all interests. im learning i may not have been as aggressive as i should have been. The player has accomplishments and on a top team so I agree with your comparative assessment. Thanks for responding:)

Day 1 saw SoCal and Texas dominance. North Atlantic was a fail.

Day 2 almost flipped. Some big losses that now put hope back into teams that lost on Day 1.

Seems Day 3 is going to be like Sunday at Augusta.

Group play is done and round of 16 set. Texas and Cali dominating, as usual. Predict PF, Surf, Solar, PDA, Legends, Richmond, San Juan and Albion advance.

3 of 4 North Atlantic teams made it through which is also a good showing. I didn’t see that happening after Day 1. VDA had a poor showing at the wrong time and have been sent packing. This looks to be a repeat once again of Solar, Surf, and PDA and perhaps San Juan. KC Athletics is the Dark Horse now needing the upset over PDA.

Tough draw this year. Two or three groups were very stacked.
