Brad Lander, New York City’s comptroller and a mayoral candidate, was arrested by masked federal agents while visiting an immigration court and accompanying a person out of a courtroom. In a statement to the Guardian, assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin from the Department of Homeland Security said Lander “was arrested for assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer”.

Notwithstanding that I did not say the left had not become more extreme, my comment certainly seems to have triggered some!
- Trade policy is radically different and more protectionist than traditional free trade, market driven
- GOP policy used to be market based solutions to climate change and now its just F climate change
- Abortion and reproductive rights used to be against, but definitely exceptions for rape, incest etc, now its just NO and also ignore the stated will of the electorate, e.g. Florida.
- Ten commandments on public display in schools, Florida's "don't say gay" law
- Election denial has become widespread
- How many GOPers have now been labelled as RINOs despite being decades long conservative lawmakers?
- Trump is the leader of the GOP, so you can't discount anything related to him, not least his behavior which others emulate.
What doctrine do you consider extreme? He can be heavy handed in his methods, but what doctrinally would you consider extreme?
I don't see progress from either party over the past couple decades, only regression.

1. Stop being the world's banker with $37T in debt.
2. Stop pretending our paying 20% of the "save our planet" hose job makes ANY difference.
3. Stop saying it's too hard to get an ID for voting when you require it for everything else in life.
4. Criminals, bums and junkies don't deserve better treatment than working, taxpaying Americans.
5. We have closed borders and always have. Every country does. Even demotards know this.
6. Police officers need to be held accountable but are not the enemy. We don't need the criminal vote that badly.
7. If we have a bad trade deal it's time to renegotiate. I'm not aware of any successful business that doesn't do this.

Well, certainly Trump has taken the rhetoric to the extreme. I'm not sure his 2nd term has been worse than the first, though. It's early, still.
What do you see, from a policy standpoint, that appears to you as more extreme? And if not, what do you specifically disagree with? I mean, for me, I think the democrats just sold out to insanity. "Let's open the borders and tell everyone they're a victim and see how that polls. Let's make a martyr out of a violent, lifelong drug addict that died in the hands of cops, because he refused to go to jail like he'd done a dozen times, and let them riot until they're worn out. We won't discuss the autopsy... or the fact that he was a deadbeat father or held a gun to a woman while robbing her, etc. If we just tell EVERYONE they're marginalized, blame cops and say their lives are bad because wealthy people don't pay any taxes, they won't fact check us. We can't lose."

I wouldn't call this a hard "NO". I also think the democrat behavior emulates Trump's now because they saw it work for him in the primaries. Remember when guys like Rubio tried to tough it up a bit and failed miserably? Biden is 113-years old and STILL talks about kicking people's asses.

Abortion is legal in Florida. However, Florida bans abortion after 6 weeks, 0 days of pregnancy and has some other restrictions on abortion access. To figure out how far along you are in pregnancy, count from the first day of your last period.

On Florida, the current law falls short of the amendment at the last election which 57% of Floridians voted in favor of. It required 60% to be passed, but obviously the current law does not reflect the expressed desire of the majority of the electorate.
In 2020, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, Republican lawmakers explored ways to override presidential election results by appointing electors contrary to the popular vote. Is that not extreme?
Look at it this way, Bush was elected based on a compassionate conservative platform, none of which would sit with the GOP today. It went from that to Tea Party (Don't thread on me), which came out of Obama (remember the whole birth cert thing) and the ACA (signature issue) - which drove a definitely more combative and anti-government approach. That's all in the last 15 years or so.
The Freedom Caucus in the House is the "extreme" right-wing element, no? It was founded in 2015 with 9 members; it now has 45, so 5X as many in 10 years.
So I do find it very odd when anyone says one side has shifted but the other hasn't (really). They both have, and neither has done so "slightly".

Issues the left has become more extreme within the last couple decades:
- Illegal immigration (sanctuary cities, increased benefits etc)
- Crime (defund the police, and promoting lack of cooperation with law enforcement). Although, they may be rethinking defund the police.
- Abortion. Democrat's refuse to articulate a time cutoff for abortions, and while only a few political Dems have mentioned abortion up to birth, the fact they won't say gives credibility to unlimited abortion.
- LBTQ Isssues/Transgender Rights - Allowing men to compete against women. Believing its OK for young school children to read books with graphic descriptions of sex. The left calls it book banning if the kids aren't allowed to read it in class.
- Parents Rights - Preventing teachers and other professionals from providing critical information to parents about their children. Labeling parents terrorists
- Censorship and the suppression of information
- Anti-Semitism
- Identity politics. Basing policies on identity and not merit, and refusing to define what a woman is
- Climate change (banning gas powered vehicles, gas stoves etc)
- Language Manipulation (birthing person, etc)
- Movement towards elitism and away from the working class

Tariffs, making moves without Congress, the erosion or elimination of soft power entities, politicizing every part of government (including the military), Republicans looking the other way on the trump families monetizing of the presidency, the now institutional practice of placing people in charge of departments they want to abolish, the demonizing of political rivals and of course the lying about everything.
I'll give you tariffs, but the other items are either behaviors or issues the Dem's/Biden were at least as bad as, or worse. When it comes to platform issues the left has become more extreme.
