Friends,
The old professor in me thinks the best way to convey to you how utterly awful the so-called “one big beautiful bill” passed by the House last night actually is would be to give you this short ten-question exam. (Answers are in parenthesis below, but first try to answer without looking at them.)
1. Does the House’s “one big beautiful bill” cut Medicare? (Answer: Yes, by an estimated $500 billion.)
2. Because the bill cuts Medicaid, how many Americans are expected to lose Medicaid coverage? (At least 8.6 million.)
3. Will the tax cut in the bill benefit the rich or the poor or everyone?(Overwhelmingly, the rich.)
4. How much will the top 0.1 percent of earners stand to gain from it? (Nearly $390,000 per year).
5. If you figure in the benefit cuts and the tax cuts, will Americans making between about $17,000 and $51,000 gain or lose? (They’ll lose about $700 a year).
6. How about Americans with incomes less than $17,000? (They’ll lose more than $1,000 per year on average).
7. How much will the bill add to the federal debt? ($3.8 trillion over 10 years.)
8. Who will pay the interest on this extra debt? (All of us, in both our tax payments and higher interest rates for mortgages, car loans, and all other longer-term borrowing.)
9. Who collects this interest? (People who lend to the U.S. government, 70 percent of whom are American and most of whom are wealthy.)
10. Bonus question: Is the $400 million airplane from Qatar a gift to the United States for every future president to use, or a gift to Trump for his own personal use? (It’s a personal gift because he’ll get to use it after he leaves the presidency.)
Most Americans are strongly opposed to all of these things, according to polls. But if you knew the answers to these ten questions, you’re likely to be in a very tiny minority. That’s because of (1) distortions and cover-ups emanating from Trump and magnified by Fox News and other rightwing outlets. (2) A public that’s overwhelmed with the blitzkrieg of everything Trump is doing, and can’t focus on this. (3) Outright silencing of many in the media who fear retaliation from the Trump regime if they reveal things that Trump doesn’t want revealed.

Macron and the French establishment just found a way to keep their leading political opponent off any ballot for 5 yrs.
She was convicted in a court of law. The evidence is there for all to see. She has the right of appeal and if she wins, she can run in the presidential elections in 2027. The case was initiated by the EU, in 2015.

Maybe more worrying and definitely a payback to tech execs - its weird why an AI provision preventing states regulating for the next ten years would get into this bill 🤔

#7 is a BS premise. Our current annual deficit is $1.8T and this bill cuts revenue and increased spending, so we will be running an annual deficit of $2T+. Its amazing how conversations on the deficit are never all encompassing and over 10 years. We're on track to have a national debt of $60T in 10 years time - happy retirement and good luck to our kids and grandkids if that comes to pass.

Yesterday I posted a clip from my friend Barry Barr, the founder of KAVU clothing brand who’s 32yr old business is under serious threat of collapsing because of the new tariffs

Today, I received a private message from a friend in California (who asked to remain anonymous) who is shutting down his 20yr old business, that employs over 150 people, because of tariffs.

But it gets worse. When he shipped his last container of goods from China to Long Beach, there were 10% tariffs on Chinese goods. He was willing to absorb that. He has over three dozen dealers around the USA waiting for his goods- dealers whose very existence relies on suppliers like him. For half of them he’s their main supplier.

Between when the container shipped, and its arrival in long beach, tariffs went from 10% to 145%. The result? He owes the U.S. government over $150,000 for this shipment.

He has cancelled his second container that was due to leave China just days after the 145% tariffs went into place. That would be another $150,000 he’d owe the U.S. government.

To be clear, China does not pay these tariffs. That’s an outright lie. It’s complete bullshit. And Trump knows it. The American business pays it. Not China.

So he has $100,000 worth of goods sitting in Long beach, and another $100,000 of goods sitting in a port in China, both of which he’s already paid for.

So what has he done? He’s walked away from his business, and the shipments in both China and long beach, and cancelled all his other orders, several of which he’d already paid the manufacturing deposits.

None of his customers will accept a 145% price increase. That would make their purchase price more rhan double the current retail price.

And he’s not about to throw good money after bad money absorbing that kind of loss.

So yesterday he laid off all 150 employees, one of which just had twins and needs the job, and closed his doors. He called a meeting, explained what happended, and sent everyone home. He’s abandoned both shipments, and informed his dealers.

Some of the dealers will likely also close because these are goods they desperately need, and most of their other suppliers are facing the same problem. That’s several dozen American businesses, with dozens of employees each, and decades of building their business, that will close.

In a snap. Just like that.

Because Trump doesn’t have the slightest idea how the economy functions. And if he does understandnd, he just doesnt give a fuck about Americans and American businesses.

My friend? He said he’ll survive. He has some real estate and some savings. He’ll default on the million dollars in loans the conpany has from severall banks. That’s their problem. They can’t touch him personally. What happens to the two containers? When I asked he said “it’s no longer my problem”.

This is what half of American voters wanted. They voted for this and they continue to support this.

If you still support Trump, let me put this in the planest terms. You’re a fucking moron of galactic proportions.

This is just the beginning.

The overall size of the BBB and the complexity of its structure seem to be an intentional attempt to hide its full impact until it is too late. Our only hope is that the Senate Republicans have a better conscience than the House Republicans.

"If you still support Trump, let me put this in the planest terms. You’re a fucking moron of galactic proportions." Barry, FB friend with Curly

My Facebook lawyer friends said the same thing Barry is saying after HRC was upset by Orange Man Bad in 2016, but it came with a red line in the sand. Meaning, were no longer friends if you support Trump & Tariffs. Barry is going to be fine. He should buy some stocks, some coins and take a break and let the Tarriff play out. Pedo Joe mandated everyone take the jabs or your fired, lose business and if you speak out like crush, you will be labeled a domestic terrorist. Hillary, BO, Comey, Adam, Jeffrey, Dr. Fauci and the other psychopaths were building FEMA camps for the unvaccinated and free thinkers.

"We all have some friends WHO have suffered as small business owners. 5 years ago, I knew a few business friends close their business down because of Covid 19 rules to stay alive and open for business at the same time, if you could pull it off. Many could not and they moved to another state. I also lost a few friends who died peacefully in their sleep after taking the jabs. I'm glad to hear your FB pal Barry has some real estate to sell and savings for rainy day fund. He will grow from this experience.

If they just accepted Baron as a student this all could have been avoided. But I assume he’s just as dumb as dad.
Dad4 was the dumbest dad of all. Trump was an awesome dad. All his kids came out on top. No crack addiction like the Pedo Joe's son Hunter. No guns with cocaine and hookers' pics. Not one Trump kid has a diary of the Donald taking showers with his daughter or a Laptop from Hell and no one calls dumb dad "Pedo Peter." Dad4 the math teacher (just like Little evil Larry) was all wrong with Covid #'s and his advice killed people.
