ECNL/RL boys

The problem with the draw area for eagles is that it’s either very old (Thousand Oaks) or Latino working class (Oxnard). To the south is lafc/real so cal ecnl. To the north is Ventura fusion mlsn. And now oaks has mls2. Ecnl for some reason doesn’t (unlike mlsn) believe in “if you build it they will come”. With the decline in children generally in the area, and some economic tension in the area, they’ll have a hard time if they have to earn it. Why play ecrl when you can go to Thousand Oaks and get an mls2 badge?

I think honestly the rangers
Word is Eagles as Rangers weren't even discussed as an option this year. With Rangers going GA on the girls side one would think Eagles would have leg up being an all ECNL platform club. Although wouldn't be surprised if both jump into MLS Next platform in some capacity.

So do you think they will both possibly join a different league like ea or mls2?

Unlikely eagles gets mls 2. They already gave it to oaks fc which is right next door to it and there’s no way that area can support two teams. Also if they go into the mls/ea system (which is now integrated) ecnl might punish them by removing the girls side from the ecnl system.

I think the rangers could end up joining with the mls in 2 seasons because of the girls and because of their good club wide performances but the interesting thing is that the rangers has gotten many mls fest invites.

Not sure this is accurate MLS Next is not as concerned with geography and is not thrilled with Fusion. They also want to go after ECNL so don't be surprised on this one. MLS know Eagles are overall the strongest option for them in the area. Regarding ECNL and the girls there are quite few clubs that have one in one platform and one in the other. I think Eagles would prefer ECNL but we will see. Rangers I would expect end up in MLS Next 2 platform with girls going GA.

Such as? The only ones I’m aware of are some that were grandfathered at the start. The rumor around these forums has been that if you want your girls team in ecnl, ecnl will insist you put your top boys team into their system and not into mls. There were a couple cases written about where that happened in Florida and Texas so genuinely curious to know if that’s true or not. Any info you have would be appreciated as I’m curious if it’s really happening.

SDSC SURF, West Coast out here in Norcal you have a few more as well.

Sd Surf and west coast are both ecnl on the boys side so that doesn’t work. The allegation is that ecnl won’t let you put the top boys teams in mlsn if you want the girls ecnl. What are the NorCal teams?
Both are GA on the girls side but would expect they move to MLS Next at some point. Phoenix Rising is girls ecnl and boys mls next, De Anza Force is MLS Next and Girls ECNL. There are two examples.
