Girls Academy 2 Finally Coming!

Will also add I think SB deserves admittance, good club that has been doing it right in the league for years. Alway lose players to Eagles ECNL so I think them getting into ASPIRE will help them keep their good local players....

Hellish commute shaping up so far for Aspire - 3 SD clubs, 2 OC clubs, 2 LA clubs and Santa Barbara

Isn't that roughly what DPL had?
No, as the league was 16 teams you would play 8/7 home games and rotate away games, meaning Albion Sd only had to go to SB every other year...Now I think the Aspire league will be 10-11 teams with each club playing an 18-20 game season with home and aways with all the clubs.

Gotcha.

Also things affect folks at the respective “poles” - ie San Diego to the south and Santa Barbara to the north - more so than a team more “centrally” located in LA whose commute is never above 2 & 1/2 hours regardless of opponent.

I guess just a chance to embrace all that “family bonding time,” right? 😂 For me, I make the most out of any trip to SD or OC to go to Wahoos since they’ve closed nearly all LA County locations. 😋

Sand and Surf announced for Aspire adding another LA team. Also Arizona SC.

Curious about West Coasts future. They are really struggling in the 13s, 14s, and 15s. Lost 4-5 teams in those ages to Reds when Gil left.

Another head scratcher from the gals and Gents at the GA/DPL....

1 year ago today Sand and Surf had only NPL. They have been in DPL for not 1 full season and now get added to help continue to saturate the South Bay. Best go to Beach, some go to FRAM, and now this announcement leaves the to battle for 2nd tier players with FRAM Aspire & Beach ECRL.

Current DPL rankings - 2012 - 3rd, 2011 - 11th, 2010 - 2nd, 2009 - 7th, 2008 - 9th, 2006/07 - 14th

1 age group that will qualify for DPL National Playoffs and this was enough to capitulate them in ASPIRE.....definitely GIVEN and not EARNED!

With the addition of more AZ clubs it definitely feels the like SW Aspire division will only have so Cal teams....

In the south bay it's Beach ECNL first. Second tier is Beach ECRL, Fram GA or players leave for Breakers/Slammers ECNL. Aspire and other teams are third tier.

If you take a step back and look at how things are going with GA it's obvious to me that girls ECNL could have easily setup a Socal only league without Vegas or AZ.

The good part about all this is that there's more options for kids to play. Also it will force clubs to actually develop their own players and be nicer to them so they don't get poached.

I agree 100%.... I do however think Beach retains RL players so well and make great RL teams and kids want a shot at NL and never get it. FRAM has picked up several ECRL kids that can compete in the GA and they have performed well since joining....

I just don't understand the additions of clubs to Aspire that have no history of performing or winning anything....

There is never the need for any SO CAL team to leave the state for a good match....1 league game in Vegas for ECNL is mind blowing....

I don't mind the travel every once in a while. But I agree overall it's dumb.

Imagine if you lived in Vegas or AZ and all (or almost all) your league games were a 5-6 hour drive. Would get old quick.

I haven't looked at ECRL teams in a while. Last time I looked there were 2 AZ league games. But maybe things have changed.
It’s within ECRL. It’s just another conference/division (with only Southern California teams) above and beyond the Southwest, which mirrors ECNL with the Arizona/Vegas teams.

I don’t think this is all about performance

I think one of the criteria are registration numbers for the clubs overall , and it’s future looking . This isn’t all about what the 11v11 teams look like right now at this moment

Sand and Surf is probably a top 30-40 program in Southern CA for girls at the youngers

Also, their customers have $$$$

So thats the issue with US soccer...

Not about performance and about the dollars.....

Sounds about right!

doubt beach RL remains good or at least the 2010's. I don't know what other teams she had but I heard the 2010RL Coach became the 2010 Breakers ECNL coach over the winter break and took the best forwards with her.

LA Breakers is putting lipstick on a pig.....hiring new coaches and having them bring in their players to boost your program will only help in the short term, at some point you will the coaches to develop them and retain them. That club is a constant revolving door of players and families and the only thing keep them a float is the patch....

Why is Breakers like this? I have always thought they have everything they need to actually be a good club. But all I ever hear is negative things and the constant revolving door of players and coaches means there must be something I am missing
