Title IX just a PC illusion?

I think a lot of people already know Title IX hasn't been working. Maybe the athletes as employees would do a better job ensuring gender equality at colleges?

Your opinion aligns pretty well with the article's headline, but not so much with the actual GAO report.

It works fine. In soccer there are more scholarships for women then men. At issue here is that 1 million less men are going to college. Still the same amount of athletes, which is equial. Women now dominate the college scene, accounting for almost 60% of the student body.

A lot of these young men don't want to get in debt and groomed. Plus, they want to make money now so many learn a trade.

The thing about paying the players is it means student athletes would have all the normal workplace protections any other employee has.

Coaches wouldn't be able to pull scholarships. (They would be able to let players go)

Players could unionize. Just like all the other big sports organizations.

Etc etc etc...

So many problems just go away because they're already solved in the workplace.
