It isn't anything like Lend Lease. At that time the world was at war. Germany controlled continental Europe and large parts of N Africa. In Asia Japan has already been in China and Japan since the 30's.

Russia controls a small portion of Ukraine. Our money isn't going to turn the tide. We also can't even produce enough shells on a yearly basis to cover actual Ukrainian needs. Missiles? Same thing.

Short of boots on the ground Ukraine has a hard road ahead.

Those not wanting to fund them were mostly willing if we also put money to secure our border. Under Biden in less than 4 yrs close to 8-10 million people have crossed our border. And dem policy currently is one of encouraging more masses.

Fair enough. The correct comparison is not 1941. The current situation is much closer to 1938. At that time, Germany only controlled a small portion of Czechoslovakia, just like Russia currently only controls a small portion of Ukraine. The point still stands. If you stand aside while a dictator invades their neighbor, they will do it again.

I'd be happy if they passed a bill which funds Ukraine, builds more munitions plants, and properly funds immigration enforcement. We need to do all three.

The USA is quite capable of, and has been, doing these things and far more. It’s only this current batch of “republicans” that doubt America while hamstringing our efforts in an effort to prove their point. The pro-Putin wing of the Republican Party seems to prefer to depict weakness.

The US currently produces about 30K rounds a month. The Ukraine has stated that as a min they need 1.3 million rounds a yr. US hopes to get to 70-80k rounds by the end of 2024.

For the Ukraine to try to retake land they need about 6700 shells per day or about 2.4 million a yr.

Now go read about how many missiles we are capable of producing vs what the Ukraine actually needs.

Thing is if Russia went past Ukraine you at that point are in NATO territory and that means actual war. Putin isn't that stupid. Especially in light of how poorly his forces have done against Ukraine
