The funniest thing that happened in that interval (and thus all that I remember well) was when my son and one of his teammates on the club BU18 or BU19 team were asked by the referee to pull their green shorts down a little so that their white sliders wouldn't show during the team check-in because he was being evaluated by CalSouth.
Other high points of that State Cup run -- in the Saturday game we beat the team with the big S on their uniform after their best player and coach had been ejected from the game (even though our sliders were showing after a few minutes of running around), we found out Saturday night that we had been DQ'd from the tournament, then Sunday two hours before game time the DQ was retracted, we got enough players there on time to win that game, and then we were DQ'd again Monday morning.

I was housed in a lakeside bunkhouse shack called Dew Drop Inn with about a dozen other teen boys and a counselor.
