How do they determine which teams get to be the home teams?
Each team had to decide to submit a bid to be a home team. San Diego Loyal and Cal United Strikers apparently did not submit a bid to be the home team. Then, the Open Cup organizers had to determine whether the proposed stadium met specifications. All did. Then, they did a random draw to see which three of the four would be at home. FC Tucson, LA Galaxy, and LAFC were drawn to be at home (that's why they are listed first on that graphic) and the others were drawn to determine opponent. So, only OCSC lost out on being at home.
