That same Strikers team is in the SoCal Elite Spring League where we (LAPFC) are - so my take is they are just trying to get as much 9v9 experience in as possible. Not really. That is just a CDA league. Most teams are smart enough to stay out of these club leagues. I pity that Strikers team and their naïve coach. By June, he will be wondering what happened to his team. What happened was he joined the Slammers league which gives them 2 months to work on poaching his players. Ha, poor bastard..

Perhaps some club leagues are a poaching mechanism - especially hosted by clubs with a wide geographic reach. I would see that as hard to pull off in this SoCal Elite one we are in. For one, there are no SoCal Elite teams in our division - it's all other clubs. Secondly, they are out in Chino Hills. While our families are OK with traveling for games, I think it would be a hard sell for any of our players to pick up and go to SoCal Elite to practice every week. SoCal Elite is not really comparable to CDA Slammers - both from a geographic reach and reputation standpoint.
Our main rationale was getting going with 9v9 and doing so with good competition. Close to us we have the Villa Parke league, but it often doesn't field teams that prep clubs for what they will face in the Fall and in their normal tournaments - many rec or new teams. CSL Spring leagues I have heard are a mixed bag.
Team USA is in this SoCal Elite league, which I assume is the same team as the Silver South Champs. If so, this Strikers North team is something to take note of, as they beat Team USA last weekend (2-1). Hopefully for them Slammers doesn't take much note.

Heard some TUSA players going to Legends...maybe just rumor
What team is your DD on? Didn't see you listed on roll call (albeit I looked quickly). So I know many of you don't care or don't like me and/or my opinion but I'll post for informational purposes....
A week and a half ago we played at Jefferson Cup. First we played Discoveries A1 from South Carolina, lost 2-1 as we played horrible...should have won that game easily. Then PDA Legacy White, Lost 2-0. Some of you may know this team as the 2009 Instagram girl Gabrielle Parker plays for. Lastly, we played against #5 Lehigh Valley Black and only lost 3-0. Both Lehigh and PDA are extraordinary teams for this age group. I don't think it would have made a big difference, but our top player was only at about 80% still recovering from her injuries.
Here is a video of PDA who will also be at SuperCopa this year. Just turn off the music if you don't like it. I hate silent game video...I forgot to charge the camera the night before we played Lehigh, so no footage of them.
You lost me when you had "2009" and "Instagram" together in the same sentence. So I know many of you don't care or don't like me and/or my opinion but I'll post for informational purposes....

Hate to be captain obvious here but I'm more then willing to venture that over 98% of the members here don't follow 9 year old girls on ig so we have no idea who your talking about.
Both those teams are playing good soccer. A lot of foot-to-foot passing. Good vision on the attack for their age. Good build-outs. Good control for their age. Both are very respectable teams, and I don't want to take anything away from either. But going back to our prior conversations on this thread, I am not convinced that either one of these teams would be in the top 25 in Calsouth. Not all of our teams play a "possessionish" style like these, but there are a lot of teams out here who do all the same things as seen on the video, including my own (and I don't even put us in the top 50 out here). The one thing I cannot tell from the video is how fast the girls are actually playing. It looks a little slow, but that might just be because of the video.
