Agree - guessing 3-1 Surf - but anything can happen...I put my money on Surf. I watched Albion-Slammers game, Slammers did not impress me enough. Albion was stronger and should win. Surf is number one again.
Blues will be ECNL + SCDSL for 07 next yearI’d assume most of the top clubs are split b/w DPL (Surf, Legends, LAG, LAGSD, Eagles, Albion, RSC) and ECNL (Slammers) for next year. Nothing confirmed yet just following the 06’s path from this year.
Not sure what Blues will do for next season.

The “Fall” seasons do become much longer once teams enter the ECNL, DPL(DA) ages, which is this next season for the 07s. As for Blues, they currently have both ECNL and DA status however, many are predicting that their dual status will not last indefinitely. It’s possible that their top 06 team’s placement in ECNL and now rumors that their top 07 team will play ECNL, could be a clue as to which way they may be leaning if forced to make a choice. I have no inside knowledge, this is just a theory. And cue the ECNL vs DA debate. I’ve never really understood the fixation on leagues and flights for the fall league as it really only contributes to 12 games max. Compare this to all the training sessions and tournaments and it only accounts for about 5% of the year & development.
Interesting, considering Blues has both DA and ECNL status, why wouldn't they choose the more competitive DPL option for their top team? Correct me if I'm wrong, but besides Slammers and Slammers B team, who else is a top team in So Cal that plays ECNL at the 2007 age?
Surf (#1) DPL
Slammers (#2) ECNL
Blues (#3) ECNL
LAGSB (#4) DPL
Legends (#5) DPL
Albion (#6) DPL
Eagles (#7) DPL
Beach (#8) DPL
Real So Cal (#9) DPL
Slammer B? (#10) ECNL
In the 2006 ECNL, Blues 06 team have currently won 11 games scored 43 and conceded 0. Slammers are in a similar boat having scored 38 conceding 6 and losing only one game to that's right... Blues. Looks like a really challenging environment to push these talented players...
I would assume the ‘06 will stay ECNL and Blues pulls out of DA. ECNL has such a better platform of operation than DPL, especially at the youngest ages. But I hear DPL is getting it together but I will believe it when I see it.The “Fall” seasons do become much longer once teams enter the ECNL, DPL(DA) ages, which is this next season for the 07s. Blues 06 top team will be DA this upcoming season. Blues 07 top team will be ECNL. I’ve heard the club will need to make a DA vs ECNL choice the following year for all age groups.I would assume the ‘06 will stay ECNL and Blues pulls out of DA. I’m not sure the leagues really differ that much in what they provide. I think the biggest draw for any league is the standard of teams that compete. SCDSL became better than CSL and SDDA because the “big clubs” got together and choose to play SCDSL and took all the competition there.
ECNL did the same thing attracting the “top clubs” until DA came along. Now it’s just a politically game about who can keep beat clubs in their league. Sounds like ECNL is using all sorts of tactics to try pull clubs back from DA. It’s a shame because it takes away from what truly matters... the players and what’s right for their development.
This is a Girls 07 thread.Other than you may have a girl that plays in the SCDSL league, your post doesn't make much sense. SCDSL "became better that CSL and SDDA" because why? Based on what metric? Profitability?
While there are some quality teams for both boys and girls in all the leagues, in general, over all (not factoring SDDA), on the boys side CSL is much stronger than SCDSL and on the girls side, SCDSL is much stronger than CSL. Glad I could clear that up for you. There is no disputing that there is more money on the girls side since Daddy is happy to spend whatever it takes to get his princess on a club team (and into college apparently) and pay for a fancy name. On the boys side, a lot of kids, baller kids don't want to pay anything. Also, why white people and fancy cars are more prevalent at SCDSL events/games. It is what it is and the mega clubs that started the league aren't dummies, they know this is all really about money over anything else for them. Not opining on whether it is good or bad.
Lastly, so it was OK for DA to come in and destroy a brand that was already serving the marketplace with a top level league but it is bad when ECNL begins "using all sorts of tactics" to protect the market and league that they created? Remember, DA could have done this long ago. they waited for someone else to take the risk and grow it into a profitable league and then decided they would try to take it over when they could have just worked with ECNL to implement some of the things they wanted to see.
If Baker's 07s are future Jserra students that make sense.Blues 06 top team will be DA this upcoming season. Blues 07 top team will be ECNL. I’ve heard the club will need to make a DA vs ECNL choice the following year for all age groups.
Wouldn’t it be nice for all of the best players and teams to still be on the same platform.
ECNL 07 will have two very good teams in So Cal next year. DPL 07 in So Cal will be a much more well rounded and deeper league in terms of overall talent. What happens the following year is anybody’s guess.
Point taken but Blues doesn’t have DPL. (because they also have ECNL - if I read between the lines DPL doesn’t want Blues third teams at the older ages). Since they have access to ECNL they may as well move their top 07 team there. Has nothing to do with Baker right now. Notice the 06 pathway. They are following the same.If Baker's 07s are future Jserra students that make sense.
