For the 04's The MX and out of area teams on top after the first day for the most part but what will the 2nd day of the back to back's bring?
LAFC was kind of undone in the last minutes of the game and lost on almost the last play of the game to Club America. First half LAFC looked better and America controlled more of the game 2nd half.
The SC teams need to play more tournaments or face better comp like these on a more regular basis as you can see.

Man City was technically and tactically superior to everyone. On a different level. Dominant most games and at least 20-30 lbs smaller on par to everyone they played. Incredible to watch and a little sobering. US academies are far behind, even at the U14 level.

Not in Man City. Not in 03's anyway. Not sure what he's talking about, maybe Cerritos there were a couple Arsenal teams.
What happened with LaufA? They were the only DA team in the tournament but doesn’t seem like they dominated. I know they won the finals but they tied their first game and all the other games seems to have been close, according to the scores anyways. Seems like these other clubs can easily hang with the DA teams.
Champions is what happened, didn't give up a goal in the run of play all 5 games. Couple of free kicks and one phantom PK outside the box.
Partial academy team with 04's and playing the correct way out of back all tournament the LAUFA team where champions.
Their style wears teams out, teams can't cope and eventually can't hang and none of them at this yrs man City cup where up to the challenge.
Plus we rested 3 Really good 03 starter for this Manchester City cup, but what really impressed me the most is our three 04, started all five games and played so dam well, way to go Laufa development is the key, and congrats to bring home, the big shine and pretty 2018 silverware Championship cup.
They dominated all games. None of the teams I saw can hang. Way too many "competitive" clubs around that, if not for the British-accented coach, would be recreational.
I saw second halves of a few games and don t have a horse in the race so I am more objective than a LAUFA parent. I saw team that held possession and played the angles well but in the second halves I saw were not dominating in the halves i saw. In the Vegas Heat game late in the second it appeared VH actually had the better run of play and momentum and LAUFA was on its heels a bit. VH missed an open net header. LAUFA and VH both got very physical at one point a player punched another player in the back while the ref had his head turned. Not dominant but dirty on that one. VH got chippy as well with late sliding tackles. They looked the slower side. Against a green team, Star, I think LAUFA had the run in the first half and then were even in the second half. I think the green teams keeper got a red card but didnt see why. They do play out of the back most of the time and they possess well but as a DA team your would expect that as they train 4 or 5 days a week. Not as dominant from what I saw. Just my opinion.
Seems close but your on a AZ team so your recollection is a bit foggy it seems.
Maybe there was too many games and your mixing up reality. There were no red cards in any games,no punches, or any dirty plays.
LAUFA plays procession and out the back the correct way. They out scored and out played both there opponents 2nd half in both games on Monday.
There opponents where giving their all and trying everything they could, give them credit for keeping up for parts of the games, however when ever LAUFA wanted they simply turned it up another notch and got the job done.
Close doesn't count in soccer, having the ball 70% of the time and the run of the play normally means a team dominates not saying LAUFA did but the stats and champions say they did well and thanks for all the teams that came to play hard.
My recollection is clear and as I said I watched with a clear mind. I did say LAUFA was the better team and not dominant but I am no affiliated or have a kid on the squad so I do not have parent vision or drink koolaid. I did see a punch and the ref and are got together to discuss it. Neither saw the actual full altercation so no cards were shown. LA also got a yellow for a hard foul after the whistle. There were no angels on vh or la.
Again as a parent of children in clubs in socal not az you had the better side but never dominating. You won and congrats. The winner probably should have come from your pool.

Ok but tell us why your such a AZ/NV team supporter? You talked up the vegas heat team and the AZ Blackhawks before and now after the tournament, so sometings in what your posting not adding up? You're drinking something so what is it?
Why should the winner come from the D bracket? The Vegas heat 2nd in D was beat 4-0 in the showcase by oceanside, 2nd in bracket A.
There were few cards in the games and the play was pretty clean for the most part, shirt tugs more than anything and compared to our normal games actually less physical with fewer cards.
Perspective is not always clear and running up the scores on teams rather than working on procession on playing players in different positions or amounts helps development.
Hopefully all the teams & players will improve and get better as result of the competition.
I also talked up Slammers and all I said was it will be interesting to see how the ECNL teams do. I am just a fan. No koolaid. I have seen Vegas Heat play before. They play possession as well. Less against you all as you were faster. All I am saying as you did not dominate in my opinion. You take that personal as it is your squad. You were the better side and won the tournament. Congratulations. But I also do not think a 1-1 tie is running up the score nor is it dominating. 2-1 with the other team pressing is also not dominating. Again top to bottom you all had the better side in both those games. I did not see the final so maybe you dominated there. Good if you did.
On paper a DA squad or an ECNL squad should be the better out of the tournament that is why I said what I said. Don't over think things.

As a parent of a Heat player, I will say that the first half of the LAUFA game was dominated by the DA team. They were quicker to the ball and faster on the field. They played possession and probably had it 85% of the half. Probably took 8 or 9 shots to our 1 shot (off frame). Second half was different. Heat boys had a renewed energy and came out quicker. They did not play a possession game as they were chasing the tie which would have put them through. They were more direct for sure but grittier. We did miss few shots late that could have put us thru and it wasn't a dominating cake walk for LAUFA. Both teams were less fair play in my opinion. We had a player possibly get tugged down in the box and then wrap his arm around a player ref waived play on (advantage LAUFA), we got to the ball first and two kids high lowed our player and then another slide from behind on the next player with the ball. LAUFA ball but also their yellow cards and we ended up with two players on the ground. WE had a player scissor tackle from behind a kid after he released the crossing pass. While the ball was on the other side there was retaliation on our player as he ended up on the ground (it is on video). The refs got together and discussed it and our player got the talking to. So I am sure he did something . It is 14 yr old boys playing soccer and talking trash trying to win. Testosterone is at a high. It is soccer. Not a big deal. The second half was closer than the first half and again not a cake walk for LAUFA by any means.

We don't have a DA in Vegas but we have lost players to DA and between us and LVSA we are still losing players to Sounders, LA Galaxy, RSL and kids are receiving offers to train and play for those DA's along with San Jose, LAFC, Barca AZ and Dallas. So our coaches are doing well. Google our coach. He is a Hell of a guy with a great philosophy of play and a heck of a player resume. Yes he has a English accent.

laufa with 04s and resting there starters and you still couldn't beat them. time to go back to rec. you knew what you signed up for when to went to Oceanside. stop whining.

I must have hit a nerve with you. Yes we played the game against Oceanside. We didn't play like we played in the other three games and Oceanside beat us that day. As for 04s good for you and they didn't rest all their starters. I could go on a defend our side on what we did or did not have with us this weekend but why games are played and over . But to call them rec players just shows your class.
