Games of the week....

Ughhh who cares they arent even Academy

Godinez 7-1 over SC Strikers. Could've been 20.
SC goal came when Godinez keeper was playing Point Forward. Even the keeper can play! 3 diss allowed goals and one missed PK by CDA

LOL What does all this playoff nonsense even mean?

It's funny how the So-Called Development League just makes up crap out of nothing; e.g. divisions within divisions Champions and Europa. Labels created for the lil eager parents who hurry and soak it all up like sponges.

Even when they had 24 flight 1 teams listed last season everyone in the know knew that maybe only the top 6 were legit if that. They now moved on to ussda and even took a couple that didn't hack it.

This place gets more watered down by the day. smh

DSL listened and changed the previously showcases snooze feast to something worth playing for.

While not the measures that CSL has with league cup or prom/reg they attempt in each division at least a couple Europa teams can make a case to play a higher bracket next season or a couple championship teams not returning.

Most leagues are watered down because upon other things as long as you can pay you can play. They don't share well if at all, no cooperation among business rivals. Clubs make more $ with more teams and the leagues gladly accept there team fees no matter what level a team is.

For the likes of God and his love 'Culchie' and other OG's from the original forum, just think about the number of new teams that have started, franchise, regional off shoots of larger clubs. This boomlet was bound to create a dillution of good teams.

For new parents to this 'Club' game, depending on your location and logistics, your child may have access to some of the top clubs. If you can't get to OC clubs or GSA, TFA, Galaxy, RSC, or LAUFA, then hopefully you can find a well coached and managed smaller club, build up a team and start to compete. Some kids will have to work their way to big clubs from smaller teams.

There are several independent teams that probably should consolidate, to gain field space and share talent.

This playoff process is a start to having smaller clubs build.

You're most definitely the sponge, the proof is in your posts.

You shared all this worthless data but your response was still incoherent.

... you have the mind of a child. Refrain from replying to my posts as you don't have the mental capacity to address me.

What happened to So Cal United, CZ Elite, and Valley United Blast? Were they swallowed, or just kind of broken down to smaller clubs?

Arsenal won a tournament 10-12 yrs ago so some how that's relevant today.

CS does a good job marketing and making a grip load of $ for a tournament that can be fun for the kids but is not a true state or national championship more like a limited regional (SC) or area tournment but that doesn't sound as good.

Soccer is a game played in the present, what a team did last year or a club did 10 years ago doesn't matter much. What progress a team & players are making now is what counts.

What club are you with again? From reading your other posts you do sound like you have a good understanding of the game however putting down organizations such as Arsenal and Strikers to make an argument that you're above the rest and belong among the so-called elite club is wrong. If your a parent and are wanting to because you won a few games early in the season you're excused, however if you're a coach it's a different story. My advise to you is make your arguments towards the end of the season. Teams are still evolving and you will be surprised.

I'm with/ for all players and call people out when they don't post anything relevant to the actual thread which is the game of weeks.

If you have someting to contribute on the topic please post that, because all that matters is what's going on now, nobody really cares about 10 years ago, last year, or teams that may or may not evolve later.

I don't care what club your with, doesn't matter, soccer is a players sport and there the thing that matters.

Practice what you preach and stop putting down clubs by telling them to focus on golf, lol . List your games of the week along with predictions. Focus on getting your son or your team better if you're the coach.

Moving on with my predictions.

Pats vs Albion - Albion 2-0
Nomads vs LAUFA - nomads 2-1 (nothing against my buddy)
Aztecs vs Galaxy - Galaxy 3-0
Santa Barbara vs Arsenal - 1-1
Real socal vs surf - surf 1-0

Same matchups with different schedules.

Strikers FC 5 or more goals vs Arsenal.

Nomads SC vs Albion. Battle of the locals, give Albion the edge, more disciplined players vs the wild slide tacklers of Nomads. Cards could fly in this one.

Pats vs RSC, toss-up if they don't draw then Pats comes away with a W.

Galaxy vs GS, the most interesting matchup could go either way but i give Galaxy the edge in this early season showdown.

Socal soccer and I where the only ones to actually do that last week so you may want to tone down on the perching but at lest you're on topic.

No not a coach and both my kids play at the highest levels even before I stated scouting. I never had to focus on getting my kids on any teams they did it all by them self, found there way as players. I have yet to have to or wanted to coached or trained them in any sport.

Pats vs Albion: Close game could either way, give the edge to Albion.
Nomads vs LAUFA, Could be another close one but LAUFA has a lot more offensive so they have the edge 3 goals to something.
Aztecs vs Galaxy. Aztecs might surprise some but Galaxy too much for them on the offensive, Galaxy by 4 goals
Santa Barbara vs Arsenal - Santa Barbara plays a nice style, this one could be another draw but I see SB coming out with the W.
Real socal vs surf. Toss-up if they don't draw surf comes away with the W.

Did I pinched a nerve with this data.....so I can see that when put in a corner all you can do is bite......"Dog".........nothing in this world of ours..... except yours is going to make sense.....looking at this data SCDSL is doing just fine, why don't you do all us a favor and take your.. " Meds" already......with comments like yours they will eventually find you and put you back in the " Looney Bin " you escape from.

the data was intended to show that SCDSL its doing ok, is it the best for every body of course not does it need improvement of course it does.

Ok but there was no SCDSL for most of years data you provided, started what year?

Also some teams you listed or forgot to played CSL or elsewhere so I'm not sure how that data translates into SCDSL doing well?

SCDSL has more players every year so that's good to see but could they do better? Yes more than 10 games over a short (2) two months of a season and some real bracket adjustments or implement a real promotion/ regulation system to start with.

Can we please get this thread back on track and ignore personal insults or ad hominem attacks, or attacking another team, player or coach, or whining about information posted on non-academy teams, or the absurd schaudenfreude when some team loses or fails to play out the back or kickballs it. Some teams may just not have the personnel to play it out the back, some teams may be working on it in practice but are not yet ready to do it in game, some teams may be taking advantage of a favorable matchup of a speed forward vs slow back line. The reality is that there are several reasons why teams play the way they do, and a blanket statement that X team is not developing because they are kickballing it is just shallow and lazy analysis.

For example, the Strikers were criticized for kickballing it, but recently they have been playing out the back and they had a tough time of it. It turns out that they had a fantastic goalie who moved to the 02 team and a stud CB who moved on to Godinez Slammers and some other losses on their back line, so Ganey is now training the replacements. It makes sense that he didn't put too much pressure on the new D to move the ball around in the first few games, but now he is biting the bullet and making his D play out the back under game conditions to train them. To me, that's the sign of a coach who is balancing the team objective of winning with the development of individual skills.

Speaking only for myself here, I really respect the posters that make quality posts and manage not to feed or lash out at the trolls. We all know at this point who the trolls are. Please ignore them. They obviously don't care that they have made asses of themselves, and they are more than happy to drag you into the mud with them. Fighting an internet troll is like fighting a woman, you lower yourself just by being in a fight with them.

Not everyone's kid plays on an academy team. My son has played on several teams, and played with or against kids that are now playing in different leagues, so I personally enjoy reading posts that discuss how those teams or players are doing. And the reality is that from u12-u18 academy the turnover rate is ridiculously high, I read in one article that it's 92%. My son's coach said that as each age group moves up, expect cuts in the 50% rate. Kids are going to bounce into and out of academy teams in the next few years, and I'm sure some of the posters bitching about posts on non-academy teams will be changing their tune.
