Yup, I know how that feels. Controlling a game and losing.

It was a great game, at least for us.
Come on now, that game in Surf Cup was pretty lopsided. You may have had slightly more possession than us, but there was no comparison in the number of good scoring chances.
I was not speaking of that game, nor your team. It was a general statement because I have seen this happen to our team quite a few times.
Sorry about the comment, it was in jest. We have had a great time playing your team and SD Surf over the last few years.

Disagree on the lopsided thing but since the video was posted and comments are made. Here I go guys. Surf makes it way to easy for beach. Both teams had chances missed of course but beach plays Surf well and does a good job of shrinking the field for Surf. Surf is talented of course however there are way too many turnovers in the middle of the field, not physical enough centrally and not enough of spreading beach out and making them chase the game more. Possession needs to lead to beach having to defend more outwide and not allowing them to pack the middle and counter attack. Too much service from the center backs and not enough credit given to surfs midfleid and outside players. Love the high back line by surf but that makes the job of the central mids harder to find lanes to create. 1 striker up today lets beach play a style they are more comfortable with. Sit back wait you out then counter you with fast physical play and good finishing up top. Just what I saw. Both are great clubs and will have fantastic seasons.

Hopefully that was not the Legends team that had the parents with absolutely no class. The parents were bad mouthing and blaming the refs for the loss. And, the dad that thought it was appropriate to flip off the refs in front of the players.

Lol... a feisty group today on the 05 soccer forum.
I hope not. Our only loss was late on Monday so we were pretty much the only ones there. I can't see any of the dads behaving badly... now maybe the moms r another story. Just kidding... I doubt it was the team u saw. This is Legends south.
Are you talking about the Legends South 04 team? I was not there but that would explain a lot. I always wonder what type of parent would allow their dd to be coached by Steveo.

To each his own. I have heard the most horrible abusive coaches... he is not. He is very sweet and complimentary to my kid who usually does work pretty hard. (She doesn't play for him but does get borrowed by him) I have many very good friends on the 06 and 04 team that have him as a coach and I can assure u they are very good people. I am well aware of his back story.
And for sure they have the wrong Legends team... their games were tucked away on field 28 ... unless u were a parent on either team u would have no reason to venture that way.
Hope everyone has an awesome league season... lots of fun, no 110 degree days, no injuries and growth.... and pray we all get through this new teen tude that we are coming towards.
️️You forget, Surfref is a ref so he would have reason to be there. He has never shown a bias on this forum so if he says it, I tend to believe him. He just has not confirmed the team but based on the description Legends South 04 sounds right. Do you have an idea of another Legends team he is describing?To each his own. And if the backstory you know is the wrong way on the 5 police chance you only know the most tame part of the backstory. Taking accountability is huge which he never did and it makes sense he would have parents that would be verbally abusive to refs. Look at the post about 2 girls fighting, this type of behaviors stems from coaches that allow it.

Awesome... so he's not your kids coach. Your good. And yes... it has not been confirmed. Team played against would be helpful. They played in the second flight. And no I don't have a clue what team it could be. And no ... I didn't forget... I never knew he was a ref.
Then enlighten us on the wild part of the frontstory. You seem to have this guys file in your records the way you continue to throw him under. Inquiring minds want to know.
@Surfref, please clear this up. Which age group are you talking about? Because there were other Legends teams playing in other age groups.

I know plenty of stories about him, but unfortunately, most are not my stories to tell. Including how he destroyed the reputation of one family because he couldn't own up to his mistakes. I hope he is at least in AA because it is not fun when your coach is absent because he got wasted the night before and you are at an out of town tourney.

Well if he did have a problem and there is no evidence of that now I'd hope that people would help him and have compassion for him rather than trash him on an open forum.

I know the family well, so know the story. It's a private matter, so no, not mine to tell. After what he did to her, I would prefer my children to take up basket weaving than play for that man. Even if he is no longer abusing, he is still not a good person. I know you want to make it ok so you don't feel bad about letting your child play for him, but what he has done in the past is not ok.

People change once they are off of whatever substance has got ahold them. I know many people who did some extremely bad things while under the influence of alcohol or other substances. They are now clean and sober and really good people. My DD god father is an exbiker who did some really bad things and was given the choice to go to prison or join the Navy. He did all of those bad things while intoxicated. We went to Navy bootcamp and our first ship together. We have been friends for 30 years and I would trust him with my families lives.
People change once sober and need to be allowed to work through their past demons. I know the coach you are talking about and he has always been respectful and professional to me and my fellow referee's, even the one time that I had an off game at Legends Cup.
