04s - Games of the Week

Meniscus injury for one and a fractured ankle for the other. Our DOC has already stated our club will never play on those fields again. I'm not sure if a formal complaint has yet to be made with CSL and Cal South.
If you are scheduled to play there... Don't allow it!
Really hope for a speedy, yet complete recovery for both girls! It's one thing to pick up an injury from the course of play, but from field conditions.....at this level.....come on man!

That's horrible! Good move by your DoC. If they can't provide serviceable fields then they should have to travel to your fields.

Apparently CSL has shut down these fields and will relocate the games this season.
Good for CSL as long as they follow through. Once again the CLUB not the girls (SonnyandCher) is an embarassment. I guess if they didnt embezzle all that money they could have done a better job keeping the fields in shape and safe to play on. Hope the Rangers have all road games for rest of the season

Are you sure that Rangers is responsible for the maintenance of these fields and not the City?

Unfortunately, it appears (based on the CSL Schedule and Rangers Field status in their website) that the field is still open and games are scheduled for this weekend. That's not good! Hopefully, the City and Rangers can get the field fix.

I'm sorry to hear about the seriousness of the injury and wish the players a speedy recovery. Hopefully, the Rangers and/or the City fix the fields before anymore players get hurt.

Bring a shovel and fill in the holes.
We played a game once where the goal area was full mud. We had some parents load up our wagon with sand from the playground to try and make it better.

Awesome! Soccer parents are great. Story would've gotten better if there was somehow a lawn mower involved.

Anyone know if there is a Home Depot near by? Will have to stop to buy supplies before the game on Saturday.

Games of the Week (9/17 - 9/18)

SCDSL - Flight I

  • SC Blues Dido vs. SC Blues Kale
  • Westside Breakers vs. Beach FC - SB
  • Surf II vs. Surf EGSL
  • Arsenal SD vs. CDA Slammers Huie
  • Beach FC - LB vs. CDA Slammers Macias
Flight I is filled with match ups pitting sister teams against each other and there should be some good games.

A lot has been said about which Blues team is the real "A" team, but in my opinion it's more about styles. Dido has his girl playing the ball with a purpose and it has cost them some wins early but they are coming around slowly but surely, Blues vs Blues should be a good one.

Breakers is always a darkhorse but they never shy away from challenging themselves and they will have a test against Beach - SB that's for certain.

Surf I vs II will be another exciting match up between these familiar squads.

Both Arsenal SD and CDA Huie have turned some heads with their results and play on the pitch. Should be a good one early in the season.

Beach FC - LB vs. CDA Slammers Macias right out of the gate! My vote for "Game of the Week!"

SCDSL - Flight II
  • Strikers FC - North KF vs. Legends Gold
  • Surf III vs. Irvine Slammers EGSL Winn
Both Strikers - North and Legends Gold should be in contention for the East division this season, this could count a long way the rest of the fall.

Surf III vs. Slammers Winn could be very telling for the South II division.

CSL - Gold
  • Rangers - White vs. Eagles
  • SoCal Academy vs. Breakers
Eagles hit the road to play a tough Rangers squad that was able to put some dents into Galaxy - SD last weekend.

SoCal Academy had a good showing in game 1 and looks to measure themselves against a Breakers squad that made some noise in beating Albion 3-1 in their opener.

CSL - Silver Elite South
  • Claremont Stars - Black vs UIFC Venom
  • IE Surf West vs. Coachella Valley
Both Stars - Black and Venom are two big bruising teams and their game should be a entertaining one.

IE Surf West weathered the storm against Venom and faces a Coachella team that put up some big numbers in game #1. Good measuring stick for Coachella in Surf West.

CSL - SIlver Elite North
  • LA Premier FC vs. FRAM
LA Premier had a rough first game, but they're a proud program and will need to show it against a good FRAM side.

SDDA - Flight I
  • Rebels vs Sharks
  • NFFC vs. AYSO Matrix
Rebels vs. Sharks may become a reoccurring theme with the limited number of teams in SDDA Flight I, but the game should be competitive nonetheless.

NFFC will look to capitalize on 3 points early on and get in the race for the division.

SDDA - Flight II
  • Sharks - Borowninski vs. Hotspurs
1st vs. 2nd very early in the season, will the numbers look the same as we progress.

Could have Soccer18 put in a call. Not sure the quality of response.....
I've seen @Soccer18 when it comes to filing a complaint, try feeding a team of hungry Goats and have a surprise party for their "coach" @Sombitch and if things go wrong, the guy goes right into action. "Waiters? What waiters? He got the food and beers for the entire party straight from the kitchen and from behind the bar!" He is no non-sense and he speaks his mind, really good friend because you always know where you stand with him and he gives it to you straight.

Have @Soccer18 make that call and those fields will get fixed real quick!

You are correct. They went to the local Ralph's last time the snack bar didn't have the right flavor of sparkling water for him! Never seen so many people worried....

By the way SoCal Academy has some very nice players, but did little to mount any pressure against Eagles last weekend.

Great insights! @Technician72 I really like the way you analyze things I agree so much of it is all about style and coaching and not the W. I look forward to your posts and opinions.
