Winter Soccer Camps - Best Ones?

Any recommendations?

Say the area doesn’t matter as much because parent(s) have some days off to do a bit of a drive. Maybe not as far as SD County...

For girls, the January College ID camp at Silverlakes, administered by Legends FC, is an outstanding way to interact with college coaches as they put the players thru drills. Not sure how it will be impacted by the new rules, but it was very beneficial to my daughter’s recruitment.

Can I ask her age and level of play?can you be more specific with how it helped with recruitment?did she reach out prior to coaches prior to the camp?

She is entering her second year of college. She plays for NC State University in the ACC, and ended up as a starter by the end of her freshman season. They made it to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament. She did not reach out to coaches prior to the ID camp the first year she participated (freshman year of high school). She did it strictly to get comfortable with and playing for college coaches. At the time we were unsure if she wanted to play college soccer or if she was even good enough. There is a lot of trepidation and pressure to perform in those situations, so we felt it was best for her to try it and see if she liked it. It really helped to get her used to the idea of playing in front of coaches. And she received interest and feedback from a couple of programs thru her club coach in the following weeks, including the Wolfpack initial interest.

SWAP (Soccer With A Purpose)
Rafa Moran runs it. Great training. 3-4 days in December at the end of the month. Usually held at Gabrielino HS in San Gabriel. Separate GK camp on the same days but they get mixed in for shooting drills and small-sides games. GK trainer is Ramon Melin and the training is excellent.

Thanks for this. DD has done training with SWAP a few years ago. Doing the camp this week and it’s fantastic.

Second this. Rafa doesn't get much press, but IMO one of the best out there. If you're looking for a trainer to make your kid do all those fancy moves/tricks that'll get them tons of likes on IG, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for someone who'll teach your kid core fundamentals that'll be a solid foundation to play the game the right way, can't recommend him enough.
