Try-out/training session

Does anyone know what the difference between a tryout vs a training session is? Is it basically the same thing? We are invited to a team however it's an invitation to a training session.

Your kid and maybe a few others will be the only ones not on the team at this training session.
The team is looking to fill the last few spots on their roster and is inviting players out for a look.
It's also for you to have a look at the team (coaches, players. Maybe even get to talk to some of the parents that are there watching).

Invited to a training session = Tryout
It is actually better than a tryout, since your player will get more individual attention from the coach to see how they fit in with the team. Have your player work on first touch before then.

Fish much? There trying to catch some more players.....

Also keep in my mind that any matchup your kid is placed in is not a conicidence. Unless it was obvious that the kid didn't belong, our coach would usually match our best player against the tryout kid to see how they matched up in terms of speed, strength and skill (especially in 1 v 1's)
