Judging by? All about the wins on that list.
And Slammers Godinez = Strikers Chingirian last season. Same scam. Close to zero development for most of the boys, while parents stay happy with those wins.
 
Teams:LAUFA, Milan, Slammers South Bay, Fullerton, FCLA and Slammers Esparza/Godinez mix
Semis Milan vs Fullerton 1-2 and Laufa vs Slammers E/G 4-2
Final Fullerton and Laufa who tied 1-1 and Laufa won on PKs
A great weekend of soccer and fun for the boys

This is Exactly what the la galaxy academy coaches they are doing, some bullshit of promise,

Having succeeded at identifying the most advanced player(s) and recruiting these player(s) to their teams, the developmental saboteur then proceeds to win most games at these young ages by “playing at soccer” – using competitive results to bolster their aforementioned claims.
Finally, in his or her most intelligent move yet, the developmental saboteur disappears around U15 or U16 to move on to the next young generation of players. Having already done their damage, the developmental saboteurs disappear just before their impact (destruction of long-term potential) begins to be seen – when the former star player(s) are no longer so dominant, and the lack of development of these stars or any of the other players begins to be seen on the scoreboard.

IMO, this is the year when alot of kids begin to quit soccer because they are getting ready for high school academics or try a new sport.

I dont think that the top teams from last year will remain top this year. I expect to see alot of new teams move up and several existing teams going away. For example, there's some new teams like Downey FC that did decent in National Cup will move up. CDA slammers Fullerton is out ( most players left). Strikers FC North B03 will be a big surprise as they now will play in the 03 age group (They played 02 last year).

Will be fun to see who ends up as the top CSL Premier teams and top SCDSL Flight 1 teams.
 
Teams change every year, coaches, players, leagues, etc..

Some clubs do well very well at the younger but don't have strong older programs while others are decent at the younger ages and do better at the older ages.

More leagues and comps keep diluting at the top levels but that gives some more opportunities but overall the quality may not be as good.

CSL is picking up some more clubs (don't want to steal anybodies thunder,they will be announced shortly) that have deflected from SCDSL.

DSL is also losing teams and players to some of the other leagues such as boys ECNL and USSDA so mostly likely that's the place where the most dilution will be seen this upcoming season. DA teams generally get better players as they move up in ages, bubble or bench players are cut or move along and sometimes replaced by some of the top club players.

This is also the year where the fantasy wears out. That Messi jersey won't make you feel a little more like Messi anymore. The Pure Control cleats won't actually provide you with pure control.
Soccer is a more and more difficult, physically demanding chore now for a lot of boys, especially those who've been pushed too hard by dads and coaches for years now. They won't say it to you, but if they take up basketball at least they won't have you sitting there telling them to "wake up."

Or, the kid may just want to play HS soccer and other HS sports with their friends with less travel, less pressure, practices at school, and games in local areas instead of traveling from Bakersfield to Santa Barbara to SD to, next year, Arizona.
