Oxnard and CDA Slammers HB heading off to Regionals

Red Star comes back to life today and beats Oxnard 4-2. So either that New Mexico team is very good, or RedStar came out flat, nervous and layed a turd.

Red Star's first two goals appeared to be offsides. The AR on Oxnard's half of the field in the first half was absolutely terrible and seemed to either not understand the rules of the game or was scared to raise her flag. That being said, they have some really amazing forwards. Oxnard seemed to have 70% possession but just couldn't get it done. They were down 2-0 and came back and tied it. Then Red Star came back almost immediately and scored to make it 3-2. Oxnard came real close to tying it back up but weren't able to. Red Star scored a late goal to make it 4-2.

LVSA 03 Silver and Red Stars both look to be on the older side of the age group. A little bit bigger and a little bit stronger. Good age group though.

5-1 final

The new kid on Godinez from CDA Fullerton seems to be fitting in well, tied for the goal lead.
Is CDA benefiting from their other "cities" and forming some solid teams? The Esparza (reserve team now) team wrapped up a decisive tournament (14GF 0GA) win Monday.

You'd think all those big clubs with multiple affiliates or whatever they want to call them would start funneling the best players into a team or two as well.

Oxnard came back and beat NM Rush 4-0. We're waiting to see if Oxnard won Bracket A, GD is very tight between the #1 and #2 place teams.
