I agree with the article completely. I also believe its not just soccer but just about everything in life.
There is no substitute for genetic lottery winners in sports - both physically and mentally. Yes I believe some people have better capacity to be mentally stronger and innate understandings. For the same reason that some people are smarter than others. No one sets out and say I'm raising my kid to be mediocre or dumb, right?
One can replace the word soccer and change it to baseball, basketball, or for that matter engineering, business, entrepreneurial, law, whathaveyou and the same logic fits.

Having an august birthday makes you considerably more likely to succeed in baseball which should tell you enough about what it takes to succeed. Article seemed like a longwinded way of saying "some children suck at soccer and I ALONE can pinpoint each reason. You see some kids are both uncoordinated and stupid so I cannot work with them."
