Yea, but Apple Valley didn't make it into CRL. They are giving the byes to the top teams of CRL.Seedings are out and it really seems like Apple Valley got the shaft. They won the Premier Division in CSL over both Tudela and South Valley, both of which got the first round bye. Just an observation.
That happen to my daughter's team a few year's ago when she was U11. We finished 2nd during the CSL league and in the first round of the Governor's Cup, we got matched up with the team the finished 1st. Even that coach was pissed off that thy had to play us for a 3rd time.Disappointed to see a team with a team in their bracket that’a local rival/ in their local flight so we played them several times already..Who does the seeding? There are more than enough teams to avoid this.
Teams still have to win their CRL playin games to be in CRL league. Not always the best teams in it, but everyone is allowed to compete. Also, not all the "big $$" paying teams in CRL got a bye, only the top teams.Cal south let's you "buy" a seeding and bypass the 1st round. Pay the big $$ for CRL and get a free pass. Not about fairness or who earned what sometimes, $$ takes priority.

Seeding is based on crl results along with last years national cup results.
