Traditionally there has been 2 group rounds with the top ranked teams getting a BYE direct into the 2nd round.

If that is the case then maybe....
10 groups of 4 with 2 byes, with the top three finishers (30) from each group joining the (2) byed teams for a total of 32 teams then split into 8 groups of four.
OR
5 groups of 4 with 22 byes, with the top two finishers (10) from each group joining the (22) byed teams for a total of 32 teams then split into 8 groups of four.
Do they usually have many byes or few byes?
Looks like they used CRL Standings for the 2nd Round BYEs.

Why would they do that and not consider league?
Traditionally the BYEs are given out based on previous year finish at National / State but with the birth year change I knew it would be something new, and most likely a one time "fix".
I wish I could undersell that squad but I can't, they are a legitimate team that is scrappy and fights for every ball. Very fast team.

When we played them I said it this is a supposed B team I am afraid to see what Arrache plays like! Boy was I correct! I think birth certificates should be checked on their back line

Looks like winner of each group advances along with one wild card. This will give you 16 teams in the second round of bracket play.
Wildcard total points like last year right? Not out of the group?
