Benefits of playing soccer

I have seen many comments/discussions in this forum about the benefits that come from our daughters playing competitive soccer.

The fact is that most won't play college/pro, etc. But there are so many other good things that come of it.

I thought I would share this link to a post on the subject by coach Dan Blank (associate coach at U Georgia, I believe). This is one of the best write-ups on the subject that I have read.

It is the post on the main page titled: "What my daughter isn't getting from soccer."

Please share your thoughts!

What a great article. I have always said this about my daughters and sports. It’s about more than the game it’s about team. It’s about facing challenges, loses, triumphs, good and bad sportsmanship, helping a teammate play better, bonding with teammates and having fun. I was coming back from my daughter’s game this weekend, they played hard and beat a better opponent. She was recovering from an ear infection so she wasn’t at 100% but she put everything into it. She was mostly quiet on the ride home so I just let her be, held her hand, let her fall off to sleep and just enjoyed the moment.

Thanks for sharing @devupa2.0
