A bit surprised that there are only a few (ten) 2009 teams in state cup. All three Real So Cal and SD Surf had their teams applied but had withdrawn. Liverpool and Strikers in same group should be a good game.

The introduction of Mayors definitely opened up lots of opportunity to let the girls play some more and in a 'big' tournament. Our little Galaxy girls only care to know if this means they can stay in a hotel! Good luck to all the little ladies and have fun!

Our 09's at Strikers feel the same way! Should be some good competitive games! Looking forward to meeting Liverpool again.

I think Strikers Liverpool is going to be
what a good game to bad both won't be able to advance to the finals

Both Liverpool and Strikers can (and probably will) advance. Total of 48 teams in mayors with 32 advancing to knockout stage. That means top 2 in each of the 12 groups plus an additional 8 wildcards.

I think some 2009 teams can go deep...Socal Blues, Liverpool, Slammers. My guess is that the Socal Blues Mulligan-Kale team is one of the stronger 2008 teams.

Rangers 08 is a solid team and will go far. San Diego teams are really good. Good luck to the 09 teams and hope the kids have fun. A lot of pressure at this young age. Parents and Coaches need to keep it positive with the 09 kids.
