06 Legends vs Anaheim Surf Score

There's no way of hiding the Black Eye this has caused both Cal South and Anaheim Surf. The entire tournament for the 06 is tainted, regardless of outcome. I really hope this doesn't get swept under the rug as if it less of an issue than it really is. In the court of public opinion here on the forum, it would appear lopsided in favor of a guilty club, coach, parents, etc. With the only counter opinion offered by "Thuderbolt", which doesn't clear anything up, but serves to cast more shadiness to the situation. Guilty or not, the AS06 will always be remembered as the team that cheated its way to the finals. Cal South should have maintained its position. JMO here, but I would rather be remembered as the team that was "cheated out" of a finals appearance, than the team that cheated its way to it.

These teams met in Crossfire Tournament score ended 1-0 AS over SDS will be interesting to see if OS Def made a difference
Err.... I believe that the only reason for rostering the 2005 player was as bait for a couple of better players, including her cousin, or at least that has been suggested on these boards. So losing that player probably will not effect the competitiveness of the team.

It sounds like the 2006 Anaheim Surf team would not be competitive without having put the 2005 player on the roster. It sounds like season-long cheating will not only be tolerated by Calsouth, but rewarded.

Anaheim Surf says: "Gee, even though we were warned by others, we had no way of knowing how old this girl was."

I would love to hear Anaheim Surf just say the words: "She was truly born in 2006."

Then, perhaps we could say that Anaheim Surf does not support cheaters.

Is it just Anaheim Surf or Surf? If it's true that the GC for Surf was the one who defended this, then the behavior is actually supported by Surf and not just some affiliate.

How does this package deal work?
Which parents present this? The parents of the "impact" player(s) or the parents of the older kid?
And how messed up is it for ANYONE to say "yeah, but this kid isn't good, so it doesn't matter."
I think this might be worse than falsifying documents. To suggest on a public forum that a kid doesn't matter in the big picture of a teams season is pretty crazy.

I rarely read this forum and have never commented. Actually I just signed up for it about 30 seconds ago. Of course all the drama makes for more excitement. Kind of like two boxers getting into it on weigh in day. I feel bad for the 06' AS team which does include the "possibly" 05' player. The girls are 10/11 years old. Mommies, Daddies, and the people who run Surf and the AS team have the say so of what's going on. Not the little girls! BW on the other hand. That's a different story. I don't think much needs to be said about him. To the AS girls, thanks for coming out and playing hard. You girls gave us(Legends) and great game. It's always been back and fourth between the two of us and always VERY VERY EXCITING. Your team and your play is OK in my book. Sounds like things will be changing with your girls leaving to other clubs. I hate seeing great teams break apart but it happens. If your still looking for a new home come check us(Legends) out. We have great coaching, facilities, DA opportunities, and an awesome little team. Any questions send me a message and I'll get you the info you need, point you in the correct direction, or try to answer any questions you have. I don't work for Legends. My daughter is TK, the little blond who plays center mid for the team.

Congratulations on your CHAMPIONSHIP win against SD Surf also!!

Recruited by ECNL/Academy teams and/or remove association with cheating coach/club. But most importantly why would anyone continue to travel from the IE for AS when they have options?
Sounds like they were planning on moving before the allegations of an improper roster were announced.
They won a lot. Sounds like they play good soccer.
I guess some parents have realized that winning isn't everything.

What a great commercial for Legends!!

MikeSSS, I dont know you from sun or moon, but that is one of the classiest posts ever!!!! As much as I dont want some of that talent making its way to Legends, I am honestly very happy to read posts like yours. Thank you for that and I wouldnt mind having you on the LAGSB sideline (or any other that my little ladies play on).

Disclaimer: Some know me as a bastion of sarcasm. This post is about as sincere as I could ever get.

Thanks SoccerLady!!!! I really thought of not writing a thing and be the lurker that people talk about but AS deserves a huge CONGRATS. They played hard and clean despite all the drama. I'm sure that's all they wanted to do and for 10/11 yr olds they had their chance to step up to the big stage and they took care of business. Great job girls. I knew the second I said who we were from I'd get a little backlash but oh well. I'm sure I'll get more. I didn't mean to sound like a commercial but I can see what their talking about. My apologies to whoever gets bothered.
