ODP invites

It should be interesting to see how the Cal South ODP team does this coming year. In the past they have always dominated the ODP championships but with all the girls missing from the list this year because of the DA it may not be the same. It is nice for other girls to get opportunities with ODP this year.

Looks like a lot invites from Arsenal so I'm sure most of team will be made up of Arsenal players imo

Blues '01 and '02 do not participate in anything outside of their team except YNT duties. No high school, no ODP. Unless they have participated in ODP invite teams/camps before that I don't know about???
Our Santiago HS had a Blues 01 ECNL player playing Varsity soccer. Don't want to get anyone in trouble so won't name names.

Interesting no Eagles ECNL, no RSC ECNL and no Blues ECNL on the list...???????

Actually there is a Blues ECNL player on the ODP list - 2001 goal keeper. And both their goalies play for non-Baker HS teams. I think every player is on a high school team (to my knowledge).

Care to elaborate?
Unfortunately I agree w/kicknit22. Most that have gone through the odp process would too.
If ODP actually went out and recruited individual players based on talent, not recommendations I would say it would be an honor to get an invite. If ODP actually watched each and every player at every tryout and picked the best I would give them more credit.
Don't get me wrong there is a lot of talent there, BUT again 'there is a lot of talent' there that you would think their roster would be slightly different year to year.
IMO

not correct - Baker coaches the JSerra high school team and had a good group of his ECNL players on his high school team. Fortunately, he can contain his comments from the sidelines of this lovely catholic school while he coaches the team.

I understand what your saying.

I've always wondered why SoCalSoccerForum parents go into this frenzy when these lists go up?

As a country we're so backwards in this sport it's not even funny.

It's still a great experience & I would say go if you get the invite but keep an open mind and make sure your daughter is aware of the process.

Thank you but my P doesn't participate in club soccer anymore. I coach u- littles in hispanic league out of Los Angeles.

Reason for questioning is that I recently received a call from a parent notifying that their P had made the list. If I had any advice to give *In my head I'm thinking this P is not even top 5 on the team*. Yes of course, have your P work on technical skills and definitely that left foot (doesn't have it) I keep asking him to use, it's crucial for his position as striker.

He's only been with me for 4 months. I'm looking forward to working with him, he has potential.

Oh ok. I think that it was something along those lines that was what I had heard
