Surf Cup video services

Footy30

SILVER ELITE
Hello,
Has anyone used the surf cup video services before? I guess I didn't realize that last year all my kids teams didn't have our Trace up? I have used baller TV to view the games I had to miss, and it was pretty meh... but at least I got to watch. Now that I want some footage, I was planning on just using the Trace but then read no veo or trace allowed. Before I cough up the money since I am a terrible videographer myself, was wondering if anyone had used it and what the quality is like? Also, did they really enforce this the past few years? (no veo/trace)
Thanks

they do not enforce.

This stuff is just crazy. It's right in line with "stay and play". If they want to make more money, why not just bake it into the registration costs? Why allow "added value" noise? Am I missing something?

We tried it out last year. No sound, no zoom, hard to watch. I've done much better with an old camcorder on a 5 foot tripod. If fact, after the team payed for the service last year, the parents asked if I would just film the games from the sideline instead; I make a lot of errors, including not paying attention to the camera while getting caught up in the game. I would recommend a pass if you have any other option.

Last year I got the streams from BallerTV and was pretty pissed to find out that the streams were gone the day after the event.

They got you by the balls ((figuratively)) and if you say anything, they will kick you in the nuts and tell you to STFU or else.....lol! Welcome to SoCal Soccer Biz 101.

It takes three to four weeks to get your videos and the quality is garbage. NextPro is worthless. I assumed that while ours was terrible, they at least provided quality service to the Surf teams, but then one of their managers was complaining about their experience with NextPro as well. We payed for Man City and it was a waste of money. Their cameras do not work as well as Veo or Trace. On our videos when the ball got to the goalie the camera could not figure out that the ball was back in play and would sit staring at the goalie for a while. Then it would figure out that nothing was happening and slowly pan out until it found the ball again. So much of the action was missed.

We are bringing our own camera tomorrow. Surf's 05 boys had not just one, but two, Veo cameras on their sidelines. So once the hosts don't follow the rules. All bets are off.

Also tried the Baller TV and the video stream for our game doesn't even work.

What a waste of money.

Sorry, I am just going to keep ranting. So our video was finally working this morning on BallerTV. I wanted to watch because my boy scored a nice goal from 30 yards out. I know their cameras are terrible, but I was hopeful. Nope. The camera did not track the ball, so you can see him kick it, but the camera stays on him and doesn't follow the ball. Have never had this problem with Veo or Trace. BallerTV/NextPro use outdated tech and Surf Cup Sports needs to demand that they update their cameras before they get another exclusive on a tournament.
