Don’t sleep on San Juan SC ECNL G13 out of NorCal. This squad is a sleeper. They’ve got enough talent to surprise more than a few contenders in the Best of the Best bracket.

In the 2012 bracket it's the Blues RL not NL. They are ranked 31 I think. SD Surf has the easiest path to the finals by far (although I think they make it there no matter who their competition is).

Legends FC is my pick. What about Blues and Surf? Any out-of-town top teams coming to claim #1 in the early rankings? This tournament is the Grand Daddy of them all for the youngers. Good luck to all the teams.

as noted, the blues data for g2012 is incorrect.
Don't be overconfident with the surf 11 and 12's... both teams just won the ECNL National Championships and they did not play their bench (kids got single digits)... surf cup will be the opportunity to let the bench get significant minutes. Could easily make the games way more competitive than they appear on paper
Oh, and the Surf "select" teams are generally some of the worst teams in surf cup... i'd pick them to come in 3rd/4th in their group

Just transposed them from SR into a spreadsheet. It only took a few minutes.

Yes - I incorrectly grabbed the NL #'s instead of the RL. The correct team should be about a 46.4, 31st in the country.

I did notice another typo in the data - Legends 2012G should be a 46.13, it looks like I fat-fingered it and had it as a 47 instead. Ranking is correct, but the incorrect rating makes them look slightly stronger than listed.

Why is CitySC Carlsbad g11 listed as 197 (nat rank)? When I look at the ranking app I see them as 39.

Wait, I see whats going on City SC as 2x top teams per age group. Usually they enter them a White and Blue. City SC Carlsbad g11 isnt listed as White so you used the Blue teams ranking.

I dont know why the team wasnt registered as "CitySC Carlsbad g11 White". But this makes a big difference. Instead of being last they would be middle of the pack.

Maybe they fixed the bracketing issues but when Surf Cup Sports took over the Best of the Best, they got it all screwed up. ECNL and GDA teams all claiming to be "Best of the Best." Back door deals had to be played in the dark rooms to fight for your club to be in the "Super White" group. They got it wrong. My advice is to go back to the Gold Standard only. Have the Silver, Bronze and Copper teams come the following weak for the money grab. I know the City of SD loves more tiers as possible because, well, it makes them money.

The City loves the tax revenue bro. My take is parents wanted to taste the "Best of the Best" and are willing to pay so they can tell their friends their dd is playing in the "Best of the Best" when it's the best of the rest. The GDA pulled this stunt as well for the elite parents who wanted their dd on the GDA team, a path to the YNT. Pay to play is hurting futbol in our country. It's all about the parents and their money. Have fun everyone

Im sure theres still some "back door" deals going on reguarding which tier teams are entered into. However things have changed and its not like it used to be. Since the ranking app its easy to see which teams should be placed where. Its also easy to see which teams are clearly not in the right tier. It makes things run much more smoothly but its not as much fun without all the crazy drama.
