- Cal South does not have a Flight 2 (Governors) division for any age group
- Cal South opened up State Cup to SOCAL teams this year. I saw 2 SOCAL teams participating. I also saw 1 out of state team partipcipating.
- Cal South Girls 2014 President: 1 Team, Girls 2011 President: 3 Teams

Wow, that's really sad. What kind of "state championship" is played with such a tiny number of teams? Alaska?

I guess I should note:
- SOCAL has 79.44% of the teams that have entered State Cup. Cal South has 20.56%.
- Of the 2,305 teams that have entered - 1,831 are playing in SOCAL and 474 are playing in Cal South.
- SOCAL has more teams entered in the 2012 - 2015 Boys age groups than Cal South does in all age groups combined.

Thank You!!
Really odd that Cal South does not have Governors bracket for all the Silver/Flight 2 teams but instead put them in Mayor's with all the new bronze /flight 3 teams.
Wondering if Cal South going to put reshuffle Silver/flight 2 to the Presidents bracket to balance competition...

I don't think Cal South is going to force teams to jump into Presidents for a couple of reasons. First is the cost which would annoy teams. Second is that if you force teams to play in a higher bracket and they get rolled up, they'll be pissed. Keeping their current teams happy on the administrative side has to be a top priority.

Agree with your reasoning unfortunately for the lower bronze teams who will get pummel playing this higher level teams in Mayors.
Maybe that's a key factor Cal south State Cup is slowly dying unbalanced competition..

Looks like greed/mismanagement finally caught up with them. Their "state" tournaments were always badly-run, low-energy, too-long events at the cheapest and worst venues to clean up on hotel revenue and sweatshirt sales. People moved on to a better product after years of CalSouth ignoring feedback.
