St. John Bosco Football

I know this is a soccer forum but check this out. I've never heard of assistant coaches paying for players tuition. How much is tuition at Bosco?

There are families of QB out there paying [some of] the tuition and cars for their receivers. Private schools regularly funnel tuition money to athletes under the guise of needs based financial aids. Public school booster clubs offering rooms and apartments so players can play for the school. And my best guess is at the higher levels of high school football 1/5 are on some type of performance enhancer. The only thing about this one is it was particularly brazen and the embezzlement accusation.

About $17k per year. See: https://www.bosco.org/admissions-menu/tuition-and-aid

A couple of the execs at the club my kid plays for send their kids to Bosco. It's a good school with a well regarded athletics program, for various sports. It is somewhat costly, but not nearly as costly as some of the more expensive academic private schools on the west side (eg: there are private elementary schools which are upwards of $40k/yr). I'm not in that demographic group, but lots of people around west side LA have lots of money, and supply will be created to meet demand.

I think Harvard Westlake is now up to around $50K. That's nothing compared to Stevenson and Thatcher boarding schools in Ojai/Camarillo that's up to just under $80K (at least you get a horse at Thatcher). Then there's IMG in Florida and I've heard it's almost to $100K. The Catholic schools tend to run cheaper.

Lots of kids are on "scholarships" at all schools. Whether it's not paying for the "donation" fees at public schools and/or paying for tuition at private schools. This is just the tip of the iceberg......and it's been happening for a very long time at some of these prestigious schools already mentioned.
