San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar crafting plan to allow practices to restart 2 weeks from now

Any idea what a soccer practice might look like under Gaspar's plan?

  • All parents and guardians, and youth participants will be required to sign a commitment to
abide by the plan requirements prior to being allowed to participate or enter a facility.
  • Sports Organizations will acknowledge and support decisions to not participate among youth,
parents, and adult leaders who are uncomfortable participating for any reason.

At practice, players and coaches will be checked for temperature and other health indicators prior to each session.
  • Players are kept in groups of 12 at practice.
  • Each additional group of 12 needs to be distanced from other practicing groups.
  • During breaks, players are not allowed to mingle between groups.
  • Coaches in charge of groups will be required to wear masks.
  • physical contact such as hugs, high-fives, etc. are not allowed. Facility shall encourage the use of non-contact
recognition during practice and drills that meet social distancing guidelines of six feet or greater.
  • Require all participants to wash or sanitize their hands before entering the facility. Hand
sanitizer shall be available for each group throughout the location or facility.
  • All equipment will be washed and pre-sanitized before and after each use.
  • Participants within a stable sports group may not arrive at the facility until the previous group
    has completely left.
  • In the case of Soccer, parents that stay during practice will be required to practice social distancing guidelines and wear masks, this will largely depend on the specific location for the field. Where a parent can watch practice from their car, the y will be asked to do so. Each field venue will have guidelines that meet distancing requirements.

San Diego return to practice plan was approved by the San Diego County Supervisors and are sending it to Newsome for approval. The plan also includes opening a bunch of other stuff including in-person dining, salons and retail shopping so I'm not sure of his timeline.

If you read the interview towards the bottom of the article, Gaspar mentions a couple of things that caught my attention. She says coaches will need to wear masks, but players won't have to. And players will not need temperature checks. Most surprising was that she says they will not have to keep a six foot distance, and contact is allowed.
Regardless of your opinion on this (opinions will definitely vary) I don't see how this could be approved especially since all of these things will be required when schools open.

This governor and the democratic machine in this state tends to attack our children whether it is through denying them sports or defunding the schools. Through years of practice democrats have learned to punish the people through their kids. It is the best method to guarantee additional taxation will not be argued when it is disguised as being for the children. With that said I have no faith Newsome would approve any guidelines for youth sports at this time as it does not lend itself to gaining more money through taxation for the mismanagement he and the Democrats have done over the many years of their rule over this state.
