If currently regestistered, there needs to be DOC to DOC approval to tryout elsewhere. If your own DOC is not granting this, you can ask for a release from us club soccer(assuming not ECNL/GA) and it will happen albeit take some time potentially.

If you were registered with your old club for the 2021-2022 season, and you leave, why would you need to ask them to release you for 2022-2023?
I thought that USClub Soccer passes were from August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022? If you didn't re-register for the 2022-2023 season with your old club, aren't you open to tryout anywhere ?

Aside from what was said above I would add that you cannot have a balanced owed to the club otherwise they won't release your pass.
Cal South has stated their position that they are not collection agents. I don't know about other leagues of sanctioning organizations.
