Prfc announcement

Its some funny shite how BE is selling it!
He sells everything. But.. that is how RSL became the monster club it is.

GPS monitoring is interesting... wonder for how many teams.
  • GPS monitoring will be available for every player U13 and above to gather all data points on player movement and performance. We do not provide this service below U13 because all sports scientists we speak with say those ages are too young, are not helpful, and are not as important. This will be the same system used by Real Salt Lake, the Utah Royals, and the Real Salt Lake Academy.
  • We are working to provide cognitive and personality tests for the players to see how they learn best, what motivates them, and what pathway allows them to learn and develop most successfully.
  • The clubs in the state are coming back together to play under one roof so that the competitive opportunities for all state-level teams are maximized. There will no longer be two leagues and associations in the state; we can all play together.

This will be good for the royals 2012 ECNL team next year

It is nice of him to admit that two leagues and associations did not maximize the competitive opportunities for all state-level teams. Now, if only RSL wasn't a core founding member of the crowd that did that .

On the GPS one, its interesting that its says every player, rather than every team. It may be an opt in thing and I assume that comes with a $ tag. Maybe coaches will "sell" it to their teams or alternatively and more likely it becomes another addon mandate like the performance nonsense that you have to pay.

Yup. Will be available…for purchase.

Did Rising/Arsenal do that? All ECNL clubs were founding members and in on it. The NPL league falls under the governance of US Club soccer just like ECNL.

Correct, and the same applies to them. I haven't seen their statements though.
Sorry I may have over reacted. Just seems like every one has a special hate for RSL. Rising and Arsenal do the exact same thing but RSL is always the villain. Have played for many clubs including RSL and they are really no different. All clubs operate in their own self interest. By that i mean how can they make money. While all have "developing kids" in their mission statements its really all about what makes them the most money and is easiest for the coaches.

SAAZ is done. RSL newsletter says only 1 league next year.
Lets remember why SAAZ came into existence in the first place. ASA was providing an inferior league for several years. (Minimium state league games being scheduled, most games front loaded on the season, no breaks for Big club tournaments, no flexibility on rescheduling games, Awful customer service really). SAAZ came about as a need for the big clubs to provide a better product for their members. I don't think the big club members wanted to do it long term but rather to provide some competition so ASA could feel the pressure and maybe their act together. Glad to see that that may be occurring.

But it was a mess from the beginning with SAAZ. Less games, odd times and locations for games, and similar to ASA deadlines were never met on the admin side. This year seemed even worse than last year with long stretches of no games or weekends with two league games - feast or famine. Not to mention why is Kino a designated location for playoff cups this weekend? Madness!
