“Coast Soccer League Invites San Diego Teams to Experience the Best in Competition”

Is CalSouth moving from Presidio to Coast in San Diego?

The email before this ended with:

“ We would like the clubs that decided to move to US Club Soccer to know we will be here to offer you a choice next year, just as we have been in the last 47 years. We will always do everything we can to grow the game for players at all levels by providing a great gaming circuit that helps its clubs achieve their dreams by working in partnership with them.

AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM
YOUR PRESIDIO SOCCER LEAGUE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Your Presidio Board of Directors met on June 11th, 2021 to discuss the number of estimated teams interested in gaming for the 2021 fall season. Based on discussions with interested leagues the number of potential teams interested in playing during the 2021 is only in the range of 180, which would directly impact the quality of the gaming circuits. In addition, many leagues have not completed their Presidio League Application and registered their teams.

With such a low number of teams registered the board took a vote saying it would not be in the best interest of our member leagues to provide gaming for the 2021 season.

An action by the Board of Directors may be overturned by a two-thirds vote of all voting members at any in-person general or special meeting.

We have a Zoom general meeting coming up on Tuesday for those leagues who have completed their Presidio League Application and are in the process of registering teams in Presidio can participate and provide us with their confirmed number of teams along with the team ages and let us know their thoughts on gaming the 2021 season. This is a member run organization and we value our members input.

If leagues do provide additional information showing there is a sufficient number of teams to game a fall 2021 season, the vote of the board can be overridden, but your league President, an executive member of the board or your Presidio Representative must attend the Tuesday, June 16th at 7:00 pm Zoom general meeting.

Announcement - Special Membership Meeting - Vote on Board Motion

If there is sufficient reason after the June 15th meeting, to call for a vote, we have set a date for a Special Membership Meeting on June 27th, at 7 pm, location to be announced (at a South Bay/Chula Vista Location, at park or meeting room; due to Covid).

Our Bylaws state that this meeting has to be announced and set 14 days prior. This meeting is only to conduct a vote whether to agree or disagree with the vote taken by your Presidio Board Directors.

For 20 years I wondered whether Presidio would update their web site, or fold. I guess I got my answer.

Presidio revised their website in a big way back in 2004/5. The League Secretary quit (the old website had been his cash cow) and for most of the season we didn't know who or where we would be playing more than two weeks in advance.

Apparently CS wants to replace it.

"Cal South is creating a new league in the San Diego area...And we want you to help us name it!
Winning entry wins $500 worth of Cal South-branded Nike gear!

A new Cal South gaming circuit league will begin play in and around the San Diego area starting in the fall of 2022. The league will be open to all boys' and girls' teams in the 8U to 19U age groups.

To get this new league off the ground, we need your help in giving it a great name!

The creator of the winning entry will receive $500 worth of Cal South-branded Nike gear. In the event that two or more people give us the same name for the new league, the winner will be the one whose entry we received first.

Yes, and they are going to pander to the clubs just like Socal Soccer League did and allow upper flight players to play down to Flight 2 games. Screw the kids take the money seems to be the mantra that soccer admins have signed on for.
