Everyone right now should be asking their club if they do full background checks for their soccer coaches.

WTF, so its the girl's fault! Are you kidding right now! If it disturbs you, you have a problem.

Should they stop going to the beach too, or at least have the common decency not to wear swim suits ... cos heaven forbid that dudes take some responsibility for their actions.

If you think girls in sports bras for a minute while they change shirts is a problem, then going to the beach must absolutely blow your mind. I mean what on earth do those poor hormonal teens and sick adults do at the beach all day. We should really cater for them, right? That's what you seem to be suggesting, that girls should make allowances for hormonal teens and sick adults - seriously.

Its a major problem. As is what people think is okay to wear in public (and to the beach in your example)

I'd venture a guess that that mentality is religious based, I bet I could probably even name the religion.
 
Here's my two cents. Don't let your kids be alone with any coach or go alone on travel ball trips, unless you can go with them. That's one of the big problems for the middle class. Mom & dad can't afford all these road trips. This is truly a sad story. RIP to this young teenager and my heart goes out to his parents. May God deal with this evil monster coach.

Well said. My comment wasn't meant to diminish the tragedy that is this girl's death and should have been put elsewhere.
 
cal south should have mandated that club to background check its staff . From what I see in SoCal they do that, plus any coach whether you have grass roots to a higher license has to background check and if anything I mean anything of that natures appears they get flagged and reported to the soccer league. So Cal south should n have done better and that what happen when you allow any club/sunday league team join .
 
Background checks are great... but it only identifies those that have been caught. Parent should always assume there's a risk and mitigate that to the best of their abilities.

100%. These evil psychopath monster child hunters blend in with the best of them to catch their prey. Do NOT leave your child alone with coach and if they must travel for travel ball, go with them.
