For any parents who have gone through the process, do you know what is the formula that MLS Next uses to determine eligibility? I heard is ratio of height relative to parents' average height, but any specifics would be super helpful.

Hi, we had a boy play on my sons mlsn team that was a "late developer" and was taller than some of the boys on the team, so I'm not sure if that's how it works. It might play a part in it but I think birthday might have something to do with it as well. Not sure if that's helpful lol. I can ask and DM you if you'd like.

My conversations with MLS GM let me know they wanted height, weight, femur length and parents height and weight as part of the evaluation of my kid.

It’s not just for small players because you could have a small kid who maxed out and a big kid who hasn’t had a growth spurt. MLS people are not stupid. Race also factors in.

The formula most clubs use is = winning. At the U13/14/15 levels, most clubs are biobanding players down for wins....thats the formula. MLS doesn't police it, so clubs can easily play kids in b2b games (ignoring the rules limit too)
