International Referee Day is coming up this Saturday, October 11th, and we would like to thank those referees who make the game possible in Southern CA and every community across the globe.
For many, this may be the first time you’re hearing about International Referee Day. It’s a global movement to recognize referees at every level of the game. US Soccer is marking the day with National social media recognition and storytelling to highlight the people who help to make the games possible.
We’re at a pivotal moment for refereeing here in SoCal as well as the United States. In addition to the RESPECT campaign, US Soccer has provided the State Referee Associations with over 100 practical training sessions — elevating standards, and strengthening referee education.
What we need from the Soccer community is field space for 90 mins to provide this training. Please get in touch with your coaches, DOCs and Club Admins. All they need to do is contact their local Referee Association (Assignor) or a State Referee Committee member (bottom of https://calsouth.com/recertification-upgrade/)
Thank you,
Lee
PS please keep your negative comments to yourself. We are working to improve the soccer experience for everyone.
