What is interesting is that in the past they have also had younger ages as well.

With the college dead period extended, will there be any college coaches there?

I would assume non local area colleges would see it as an unnecessary expense since schools are cutting athletic budgets for the time being. Interested colleges may stream the games though if possible.

Extremely doubtful there will be any coaches there at least in D1. This will just be an event where your team can film the games because that's what college coaches are looking for at this point. Recent game footage. They can make decisions based off of that. Question is, will all the teams on that list actually come. With none of our teams in CA are playing. How can we be ready to jump in and play if we haven't even scrimmaged?

That was the main reason that the Solar teams backed out of the showcase. Opting to go to the Spring Showcase instead. Texas ECNL Conference has been playing so those teams have game film to share.

agree. I don't like it about the scrimmaging part. I think that how you get injuries.

I think it's even worse for practices in Calif : FOR ALL PRACTICES no contact is allowed and 6 ft distance is required.

Unless teams violate the rules or go to AZ they will have had only 6 ft distancing in practices and no contact anywhere prior to any games.

What SoCal ECNL club is not scrimmaging in Az this past month and October? Was out there last week and saw three other SoCal clubs at just one field. Going back this weekend for my younger daughters clubs and know of other SoCal clubs heading out as well. Won't be ideal but will have a few weekends of scrimmages ahead of the Phoenix Showcase.

any reports of covid transmissions?

any reports of covid transmissions?
Any reports of testing -- I would guess there is transmission like among college teams for football and nfl football team, but they are young and healthy and most likely asymptomatic. Although I haven't really heard anything about transmission in women's college soccer - has anyone?

The girls can scrimmage at any park where I live in NorCal. They just can't have a coach present and can't wear club training gear. Is it BS? Sure, but it's a reasonable facsimile of gameplay that will help prepare them for tournaments.

Sounds like this requires some planning. Are you sure these teams won't get ratted on while playing their self-organized games?

It all comes down to liabilities. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything. Do it, but at your own risk.

I think it's best to mix in with other groups/players that are already there. You won't get the benefit of learning how your teammates play in game situations, but you will get the "feel" of playing soccer without the social distancing. That is probably the biggest concern for CA teams that aren't training/scrimmaging normally.

I'm not sure I understand your response... I don't think there is going to be a situation (at least for my DD) where her team will show up to play each other and then mix in with random people. That will not happen. My question to you was... If they do organize their own game, will someone try and rat them out for playing?

I can understand that. In that case, even a 3v3 game in a relatively small space of girls that normally train together will go a long way toward getting them game ready.

I suppose that's possible. However, if you are at a park where soccer is regularly played, and you are playing soccer without coaches or team identification, what is there to report? Now if you try to take over a field and exclude others from playing, you may draw unwanted attention that could lead to complaints.

Agreed on both accounts.
